OriginalkiltedFrog
I had a similiar problem last night when messing with my .ini's. Can't remember where it is but turn your vsync on using iPresentInterval = 1 (might be the wrong command as I'm not at my computer, but the one that enables vsync). No guarantees, but it might work for you. I had an ugly pinkish-purple emblem at startup and would crash before the menu came up when I had iPresentInterval = 0. nisen
no thats not the problem, but have checked out a few other threads and might have a clue whats causing it, need to move a few things around but will update with how it went later allright, problem half solved. The clue was a mention of a new ini file in the Data folder here Turns out that little console process adds both an ini file and new esp to the Data folder, and thats the cause of the pink logo and broken saves. Removing the ini and esp, and restoring the ugrid 9 settings to the ini allows me to load those save files again. Guess i might try lowering it using the other method another time if im feeling lucky. Edited April 26, 2012 by nisen
TwistedMinds
What I usually do to revert back to a lower uGridsToLoad is to load my savegame with the current uGridsToLoad, alt-tab to desktop and open the .ini with notepad, set it to uGridsToLoad=5 , blahblahexterior=36 (the default setting btw). After that alt-tab back to the game and type 'refini' in the console. Save your game then quit/reload the game, it should work with the new uGridsToLoad. You should _always_ be in an interior while doing it, preferably in a test cell (coc qasmoke or whatever). Edit: oops, nisen already linked to this thread, it is the same exactly the same trick :) Edited April 28, 2012 by TwistedMinds
