How to reset quests? (dont suggest setstage or resetquest commands because they wont work)

i really dont know why we have setstage, resetquest and startquest commands because they are not working.

 

i am stuck with the far harbor quest "Turn Back the Fog".

 

i took money from the cannibal and killed him but stupid game considers you betrayed small bertha. i want to change this but i already completed quest so i need to do it again.

 

any thoughts?

Completing the quest my prevent you from resetting/restarting any quest. All you can do is reload a save before the point you killed him.

what if i didn't complete quest after killed him? i think i have a save from that point but not before killing him. i mean i still have to talk with small bertha in that save game and quest was still active.

Quest are not really supposed to be reset or "rolled back". You can't use setstage to set the quest to an earlier point. It only goes forward. And resetquest has more bugs than any use. Only thing you can / should do is to reload a save before you killed him.
