tanikins
I downloaded the official HD texture pack that Bethesda released SUPER excited to play a better Skyrim, without those weird, blocky noses. I then turned on the game to find 2 huge problems. 1. A few textures in the game have completely disappeared. Like--they gave up, or something. They are literally white-purple blobs of what used to be trees, armor, boards, weapons etc. 2. The game now crashes every few minutes, without any sort of provocation or warning. The FPS isn't down at all, the game just closes, without even a message telling me that "Skyrim has stopped working" from Windows. It ALSO crashes whenever I try to take a screenshot of the glitches, so I can't show you what they look like. I have a brand-spanking-new video card and 4G ram. I also disabled all mods pertaining to texture. It made no difference. I don't know what happened, other than that I downloaded the HD texture pack. And now my game is BROKEN. I'm really frustrated; any advice would be seriously appreciated. Even better would be mod suggestions that might help. ~Tanikins
tanikins
Seriously, please help. It literally lasted 40 seconds this last time I got a game loaded before crashing this last time. This is really bad.
tanikins
Okay, so. I'm just going to reinstall the whole game. -_________- Why do the great games have to be so difficult?
Rabbit1251
Okay, so. I'm just going to reinstall the whole game. -_________- Why do the great games have to be so difficult? I was just going to say that if the texture pack is causing you so much trouble then maybe you should uninstall it. However the only way to get rid of the texture pack once you got it is to reinstall your game so you're actually on the right track. It's not that great anyway.
