Latin_Heat
I'm creating a gun using blen. I'm a noob so I don't know how can I attach textures file to the meshes. Somebody can help me? :(
jaysus
dunno bout blender that prog always kills my sanity... first you need to map the mesh tho... then you can easily assign textures lets say in nifskope by opening your nif then going for the nitrstrips branch looking for texture properties... there you have a purple blossom on which you click and choose a dds texture... done

Latin_Heat
Thanks for the tutorial. Now I'm sure blender is too much complicated for me. Can you give me an advice about a more intuitive program?
LHammonds
I don't think it is "too complicated" to use. Yes, it has a ton of options but you do not need to use them all...only a handful. Regarding the making of a model to get it into the game, the basic steps are as follows: 1. Build your model2. Add a UV Map and attach a texture file to it.3. Export a UV Map template to help create a texture file.4. Add a collision model if necessary (weapons, shields, clutter)5. Add vertex groups (a.k.a. weight painting / skinning) if necessary (armor and clothing)6. Export to NIF. -=-=- End of Blender-Specific Steps -=-=-=- 7. Make some tweaks to the NIF inside NifSkope.8. Create a texture and convert it to DDS format.9. Create a normal map based on the texture and the model and convert it to DDS format.10. Create a menu icon if necessary (anything that shows up in the inventory list)11. Add it to a plugin via the Construction Set. I started a tutorial to explain step-for-step on how to create a super-generic sword, put a UV map on it, texture it, add collision data and export it to a NIF file. I'm about 1/2 way done but I did upload a tutorial about the collision part. EDIT: Actually, here is a tutorial that covers the addition of a texture material: Custom Swords Here is another tutorial about how to import / export armor using Blender. Here is a Blender tutorial on Custom Helmets. LHammonds

LHammonds
Thanks ^^ and sorry for the grammatical mistakeI didn't notice the grammatical error until you just pointed it out. hehehe. I am used to reading between the lines since English is not the primary language of many members. ;) I just used the quotes for emphasis on the thought process.
