charwo
I uninstalled Fallout 4, and while there's enough quest mods to draw me back in but frankly, quest mods in and of themselves don't fix the things I don't like about Fallout 4. I've been trying to watch the mods, but I'm asking about scuttlebutt. Is there a mod in the pipeline to do any of the following: A mod that restores Boston to a functioning city state?A Helgen Reborn type mod to rebuild settlements like Salem or Concord or Quincy or University Point?A real animals mod?A mod to make the abandoned Vaults into settlements? Rabbit1251
You are entirely free to build any, or all, of those that please you. You really don't have to wait for someone else to do it. Try it. You'll like it. The Rabbit

I would need to go to a school to learn those kinds of modding skills and I would have to be there for years. I don't have any modding skills and would need someone to sit down with me IRL and teach me step by step by step because I learn well in a classroom and NOWHERE ELSE. I want Fallout 4 to not suck but I don't have anywhere nea the requirements to make it not suck. I would have prefered a simple no.
csbx
It is utterly untrue that you require schooling to develop mods. I'm currently working on a quest mod that does some fairly interesting things and I certainly didn't go to school for this stuff. Many of us are just people who want to contribute to the Fallout 4 and who have some interesting ideas. We get by watching youtube videos and asking questions on the forum. It's true that for certain kinds of quest mechanics you would need some basic programming skills; but there are many genres of mods that don't require this. That's true if you're working with pre-built assets, but the things I want require.....a lot of mesh and texture mods, and apparently for one headed deer and such, new skeletons. A rebuilt Boston would need one decent mesh and texture person. I still love Bond's mods for Fallout 3 and NV in that they were fancy, everything looked fresh and like people gave a s#*! and none of any of his work ever gave the impression of being post-apocalyptic. I want things that are decidedly not post-apocalyptic, especially when it comes to Boston being rebuilt. Hell, even a Salem Reborn mod would require completely new mesh and texture to say clear the rubble, rebuild the church, etc etc.Add interiors to the buildings still standing, etc, etc. And even if I were to say write a quest mod, I'd need somebofy to teach me how to write quests, both in theory and in practice. You may not need schooling to mod, but I certainly would. I couldn't self teachmyself to hard boil eggs, which I can't do. I gotta have my hand held every step of the way or I'll never figure it out.
