NMM great, glad I switched from Steam, but what's with updates?

Lol. Nexus is far from dying out. As far as the updates go since you are using NMM it will notify you when an update is available with a yellow triangle with a red exclamation point inside it on the right hand side of your mods page. Another way that I like to use is to track all of the mods I am using and when I go on Nexus I just click on tracking and it shows which mods have been updated. If you use a lot of mods and do any manual installs it is a good way to keep up with all of the ones you are using. If you want to track them there is an icon on each mod page you can enable tracking with.

Unlike the workshop, you don't get auto mod updates. I have found this to be a better system, because it increases your level of control over your own game/mods. For example there are several mods that I have that added content I was not interested in or would cause conflicts with other mods, so I have chosen not to update, or postponed updating until it worked for me. Plus you aren't waiting forever for the mod updates check every time you start the game.
