Nightcrawler913
Having problem with one of the Objective of the Quest. The problem is with (Learn the Word of Power from Einarth) I don't get the quest icon to speak with him. Anyone had problem with that? Georgiegril
My experience has been that quest bugs are often (not always) a matter of getting to the right person and triggering the dialogue. Have you tried going back to Arngier and initialising the conversation again? Sometimes it seems like an NPC is done, but there is something more....I would try going through all of the dialogue choices, even if they seem unrelated. Perraine
Generally when you first arrive all of the greybeards will slowly wander in from wherever they were (off contemplating the un-contemplatable or the cosmic all or whatever it is they do for fun) if for some reason Einarth was reading a paper on his throne when you arrived, he might be late, or stuck somewhere (to much Skeever Tail Curry last night?) so it could be irreversibly bugged. You can try Geogiegril's suggestion, and normally Einarth will spit the word out onto the floor in the main hall for you to read ... Otherwise it's reload an old save time
Nightcrawler913
I notice when I first arrive and enter the place that Einarth is not even present only Arngier and two other guys. After finish the conversation with Arngier I see the word on the floor in which I learn by standing next to it
RedRavyn
I'm curious. Have you reset the timescale to something very low ... like "1", maybe? This bugs the AIs on many NPCs, causing them to stall out and just stand wherever they are, even if they're supposed to be going somewhere to do something important. If so, reset the timescale to something higher. I run with "2" most of the time, but will occasionally reset it to "5" or "8" when I know I'm involved in a time-sensitive quest, like the first one getting from Helgen to Riverwood, which requires the timescale to be set to default "20" or all manner of strangeness will be happening in Riverwood when you get there. When all else fails, you can use the console to move the stalled NPCs to you. You do it like this ... prid <refID>moveto player Here are the refIDs for the Greybeards: Arngeir: 886b3Borri: 886b4Einarth: 886b5Wulfgar: 886b6
Nightcrawler913
Thank you guys for the feedback. @RedRavyn no I have not mess with the timescale. I am new to pc gaming so the only thing I have done is download MOD. I was reading an article on how to set the timescale. So its (set timescale to X) of course without the brackets and the number 2 so it looks like this ( set timescale to 2 ) Just making sure. I saw this mods should I also try this out? RedRavyn
Yes, you got the command right. Even a timescale of "2" sometimes makes actor AIs stall out, though. If you get too much of this you can always up the timescale a bit, or do what I do: go to consoleclick on actor (make sure refID shows up on your screen)leave consolewalk a short distance awaygo back to consoletype "moveto player" (without the quotes, of course)This will move the actor to your location and usually jumpstarts its AI. I've never used a dynamic timescale mod so I can neither recommend one or discourage their use. I prefer a constant timescale that's as near to Real Life as I can get it, so I don't want it changing. I don't, personally, see the point in changing the timescale based upon where you are or what you're doing. Different strokes for different folks.
