where do u put the install path for the mods? (so they install into game)

i was trying to move it to the date folder and it is refusing to install saying it needs to be in a folder by its self O-o. i make a place in my G drive called vortex mods, then it added downloads along with mods folder in same folder housing the Downloads folder for this

The install path is completely independent of the location of downloads, mods and the actual game youâre modding.

 

The best advice is to install Vortex to its default c:\program files location.

 

Then you should use the individual game settings (in Vortex) to set a proper path for the downloads and mods. The archives can be stored anywhere you like, but the installed mods HAVE to be on the same partition (i.e. drive letter) that the actual game is installed on.

 

So in your case, just set the mods (and downloads) directory for each game to G:\Vortex Mods\<game>

 

This directory should be empty, Vortex will create the subdirectory it needs by itself.
