mrm1676
I have asked this question of other mod makers and am trying to find the source of the problem... Does this mod have anything to do with having really large save files? Every time I have to load an area or save it takes 1m 38 sec- 1m 42sec. It didn't use to be this way. Maybe loads took 5 seconds. I am playing on a PC and everything I look up people always automatically assume it is hardware issue. Well if other games are running fine it is not a hardware issue. I just installed many mods before this happened and also made sure it can run with 4gb of RAM. So my theory is it is one or the other. These are the mods I run with BOSS reporting no conflicts: 1- Imps more complex needs2- Apachii hair3- Jaysus Swords4- Hideout5- Retreat6- Frostfall7- Sounds of Skyrim Dungeons8- Sounds of Skyrim Wilds9- Realistic Lighting10- Static Mesh Imporvement11- Lore Friendly Armors12- Smithing Perk Overhauls13- Weapons and Armor Fixes14- Complete Crafting Overhaul15- Rich Merchants16- Midas Magic17- Deadly Combat18- DynaVision19- Dual Wield Blocking Animation20- Dual Wield Parry21- UFO22- Torches For Realistic Lighting23- Cloaks of Skyrim24- Deadly Dragons25- Deadly Dragons Armor26- Advanced Kill Moves27- WATER Now you may say holy s*** that is a lot of mods but honestly these mods are not always active. For instance Frostfall and IMCN are always running. If you guys see a problem let me know please. It is really unbearable to try to get to an NPC inside have to wait 1m 40sec to load talk to them for less than 1m then have to head out the door and load for another 1m 40sec. It happens with sleeping, waiting, fast travel, saving.... It is becoming unplayable, I find myself going GOD mode just because I am tired of dieing and having to wait to load the save... I have 2 characters now. 1 was created before the patch the other was created after the patch and mods were added. My first character is at level 43 and its save file is only 13.9mb. My second character is at level 24 and its save file is 31.8mb. I expected there to be some difference between the two since mods were added but this is a large difference. Georgiegril
I have a lot of the same mods you do and over 30, so I don't think the number you have is the issue, but maybe mod conflict or load order? I had a problem for a bit with super long loads, and it turned out to be a particular mod I had added (not one of the ones you have, sorry). Can you think back to when it was working properly and try uninstalling the mods that you added just before the problem appeared? The only other thing I notice is that my deadly dragons is much higher on the load order, above UFO and my player abode mods. Not whether that is important or related to you issue. Hope some of this helps!
mrm1676
Someone suggested it could be Dynavision I can confirm that Dynavision is not the issue as I took it out and still am having problems. According to the BOSS application for load order: Skyrim.esm ActiveUpdate.esm ActiveImp's More Complex Needs.esm ActiveJSwords.esm Activehideout.esm Activeretreat.esm ActiveApachiiHair.esm ActiveChesko_Frostfall.esp ActiveSoS - The Dungeons.esp ActiveSoS - The Wilds.esp ActiveBetter Dynamic Snow.esp ActiveNatural Skyrim Rain.esp ActiveRealistic Lighting.esp ActiveStaticMeshImprovementMod.esp ActivedD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp ActiveCloaks - No Imperial.esp ActiveCloaks.esp ActiveCloaks - Player Only.esp ActiveJSwordsDistributionBalancePlugin.esp ActiveLFArmors.esp ActiveSmithing Perks Overhaul - Balanced.esp ActiveWeapons and Armor fixes.esp ActiveWeapons and Armor fixes - Hacks.esp ActiveComplete Crafting Overhaul.esp ActiveNote: will conflict with mods that modify existing recipesDeadlyDragons.esp ActiveBash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}}DeadlyDragonsArmory.esp ActiveWATER.esp ActiveWATER - Get Wet.esp Activetorches for RL (happy medium).esp ActiveIMCN - Overrides.esp ActiveMidasSkyrim.esp ActiveQuickShouts.esp ActiveDeadlyCombat.esp ActiveDual Wield Parrying_ScriptDragon.esp ActiveDual Wield Parrying_RandomAttacks.esp ActiveDual Wield Parrying_LeftHand.esp ActiveDual Wield Parrying_DualPowerAttack.esp ActiveDual Wield Parrying_DualAttack.esp ActiveAdvancedKillMoves.esp ActiveUFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul.esp ActiveNote: For safe install need dismiss all your followers, save, delete all included mods, load, save and install UFO So, only a few things are out of it's suggested order but that doesn't mean that is the issue. I can try to reorder them to the suggested one and see if there is any impact although I highly doubt it. Edited April 29, 2012 by mrm1676

Georgiegril
Another thing, you probably already tried...have you verified your game cache? That has also helped me in the past. And I still forget to try it!
mrm1676
I do not know how to "verify game cache". I might have and just don't know it.... Another thing, I just messed around with the Skyrim.ini file to see if it would help... [Papyrus] iMinMemoryPageSize=100000 iMaxMemoryPageSize=5000000 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=1800000000 I added that and now my load times are only ~10 seconds long. I want to know what this does before I say I fixed the issue.... I am also wary about messing with the config files but this is what I have in my Skyrim.ini file...:[Display] sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+" [Grass] b30GrassVS=1 [Water] bReflectLODObjects=0 bReflectLODLand=1 bReflectSky=0 bReflectLODTrees=0 [General] sLanguage=ENGLISH [Papyrus] iMinMemoryPageSize=100000 iMaxMemoryPageSize=5000000 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=1800000000 I know there are a s*** ton of templates for these .ini's but I wish there were some that came highly recommended. I know you are going to ask too: Specs:Windows 7 64bit NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz, 2667 Mhz 4GB RAM
JarlWilhelm
If you have used BSAOpt to extract the graphics or sound from a bsa file, the game will load these instead of using the bsa. It takes the game and CK a lot longer to load these for some reason, so suggest moving to a different directory while they're not in use. Or if any installed MOD added any new directories to the DATA folder ie: Meshes and Sound, That will also cause a bit of a slowdown. kevkiev
I do not know how to "verify game cache". I might have and just don't know it.... In your steam game library, right click on your game then click "properties" then, under the "local files" tab, click "verify integrity of game cache". Steam will DL any files that you may be missing in your game folder. (Had to do this a TON with FONV, not so much of a problem with skyrim, though it did help me out a couple times.)
