Trickysocks
I am new to modding, very new. Today, thanks to Nexus Mod Manager, I installed my first ever mod on Skyrim. I've installed a second, but haven't gotten to the part of the game to see if it worked. I am very excited to try armor mods. My question is, I notice a lot of descriptions with a need for CBBEvM3 or such type of body needed, do you need certain body types in order to install any of the armors? I currently have a body mod and it's fairly close to what Skyrim characters originally look like. Would the armor mods not work with this body type? I don't want to add too many mods since I'm new to this. I'd really appreciate any help with this.
MShoap13
Some body mods require a specific skeleton. Armors made for that body mod also require said skeleton. This can potentially create all kinds of problems. To give you an example, on Oblivion there's a very popular body mod (HGEC) that requires you use HGEC compatible meshes. If you were to use a mesh made for the default skeleton (gloves, armor, etc.) with an HGEC skeleton, it would cause the hands and feet to float off to the sides of where they should attach to the arms. However, I believe that the default body, CBBE, CBBEV3M, UNP, and UNPB are all on the default skeleton (or a very similar skeleton) and are interchangeable. The only way you'll know for sure is to install the mod and test it in-game
