  1. Hi. I'm hoping there might be someone who has an understanding of this issue I'm having. Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) app kept sending a message when I got onto my laptop. This message about an update has been repeating for a while now and I thought I'd go through with it. As soon as I did this, my D drive was taken away from it's location. I can see that the storage in D drive is now located in the IRST storage system view. I just don't know how to restore it to it's original location. I've come across several others in forums that have had this issue, but I've seen no fixes for it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  2. I don't have the best eyesight and my PC isn't a great rig for gaming. Your posted pic looks good in quality. I can't really see the issue, but since you seem to have a great set up and an eye for graphics, I hope you find a resolution, no pun intended. I wish my graphics looked that good. Sorry for the unhelpful comment.
  3. Sad you've gotten no responses to this. I've had this problem with Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) some time ago, but I forget how to resolve it. Now I'm having this issue with Nexus Mod Manager for Fallout 4. Just yesterday, the issue started. My mods work, but I suddenly can't add any mods to NMM. Nothing happens. The issue for FOMM was that I needed to clean some files somewhere and then it started to work again. I guess installing and uninstalling a lot of mods over time is collected somewhere and eventually builds up where it needs to be cleaned up. I just can't remember where or how to do that. Hopefully, someone knows and can post here how to fix this. It's annoying.
  4. Any news is good news at this point. It's been fairly quiet. The anticipation for the Creation Kit has been paramount for some time. Glad to see fixes, updates, incoming DLC and at least a mention of the possibility of April being a month to look forward to. Thanks for the update on info.
  5. Yes, this should be asked daily. It's less than a week away from being 3 months from release. This is the amount of time it took for Skyrim's creation kit and they've been talking about release of Fallout 4 creation kit since before release. It's already been said that PC would get it first, then Xbox a little later. PS4 was the one they were thinking would take a little while to figure out. They're keeping pretty quiet about it, but really it should not take much longer.
  6. In response to post #30141325. #30141435, #30141540, #30141780, #30141855 are all replies on the same post. Great work guys! It's nice to see all the work that has been prepared in order to get things up and going before launch. Hopefully all the hard work will make the transition nice and smooth. I look forward to seeing the mod community come together for FO4 and make it the best experience to date. I'm psyched! Just a few more days...
  7. @Alexander2199 If you delete the door, how do you enter? @jones177 Tried that, no luck. I know I can multiquote, but I quoted wrong and I can't fix it.
  8. I don't think anyone with some common sense thought Nexus was a white knight for Valve or Bethesda. I can only speak for myself, but the good work done by this site is very much appreciated. I have a ton of respect for the group at Nexus and the mod authors that contribute. I wish this site many years of success. I agree the mod authors choosing to do this or that is their business. Whichever route they decide to go, best of luck. The "only response to mod authors, whether mod small or big or multiple, is "thank you". I can truly say that games like Skyrim or Fallout, as prime examples, are successful due to fact that they are mod friendly. The companies would quickly see that if they decided to make their content near impossible to mod, the sales would drop dramatically. The replay value would cease to exist. Their DLC content is largely valued, no matter how many mods there are out there. Usually their DLC offers mod authors material to work off of. It only increases value and a following of customers to purchase their goods. How anyone might not see this is just incredible. I think other companies would find that their games would generate a ton of extra profit if their games were mod friendly and if they were able to offer tool kits to make it happen. I have a lot of games I love, but replay only once in a while. Modding makes things new and interesting. You get to enjoy the game you love your way. I don't think anyone looks at DLC and turns their nose because of mods. Quite the opposite, more content! Sorry to hear about your travel plans being cancelled. Those types of trips are so very important, Dark0ne. Make sure to get back on that as soon as you can.
  9. In response to post #24565784. #24566209 is also a reply to the same post. Most mod authors know full well that their shared hard work is appreciated and do it because it's fun. They want to share and have others enjoy it as well. Every mod author has the right to do whatever they want with their content. Share it or not. They can go with this new plan of Bethesda's too. If so, i wish them luck. Most likely people will not see any substantial amount of revenue from this. People will find the free content to enjoy because a lot of mod authors will continue to release mods for free. The content that would be worth spending money on would have to be amazing and truly a "staple" mod that you just couldn't do without in order to really get a decent sum of profit. I really value the mod authors contributions, but this tactic from Bethesda is dirty in my opinion. All I see is, greed on their part. They're really digging deep for money on this one.
  10. I haven't been able to enter Castle Volkihar in years it feels like. I can enter the back or side of it when it gets to the part where you go looking for Serana's mother, but the front entrance, not the gate, is always a CTD. I've used console commands and nothing works to get inside. I can bypass the quests with console comands, but I can not enter that fron door at all. I also have to side with the Dawnguard so that I don't get quests from the vampires inside Castle Volkihar. My rig is fine. I run the game on about 100 mods and on ultra settings with a solid 50-60 fps. I use LOOT and BOSS. I also TESVEdit to clean the files required. I have no other issues with the game, just that entrance. I can also say that I've tried entrance on new intalls, new game, with zero mods and still I get the crash at the entrance. It really sucks because I like the Dawnguard DLC and playing as vampire, which I haven't been able to do in a very long time. I've been through the Dawnguard DLC a few times at least. I just wish there was a fix out there to get this going again.
  11. Dawnguard has been broken for me for a very long time. I don't remember the last time it worked. During quest Bloodline when it comes time to enter Castle Volkihar, just when I'm supposed to appear inside after entering, I always CTD. Now I can skip this part with console commands. Basically, I can't go inside the front entrance of the castle. When I have to enter the back entrance, it's no problem. The only thing I can not do is enter from the front entrance. So I have to use the console command to skip this part two or three times if I join the Dawnguard. If I want to be a vampire, well, I"m screwed. I've tried this over a dozen times on new installs, with and without mods. Nobody has reinstalled Skyrim more than I have, nobody! I'm sure there's a very technical way to figure this out, but I'm just not willing to go through the hassle. I can still enjoy Skyrim without playing all of Dawnguard. It just makes me a little sad because it is a good DLC. Every now and then I try to see if someone has found a fix. Seriously, i've tried everything. I love playing as vampire too.
  12. The endorsement changes are genius. I imagine a lot of mod authors are seeing numbers go up a bit. I always felt bad when I forgot to endorse. No longer an issue. Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the response. I figured it out and in the long run I found that aside from the literal process of installing a new graphic card, a lot more research on the right card is important. Not a fun day yesterday, but a learning experience no less.
  14. I know I should check out my owner's manual or call for support, but I don't know where I've left the manual and support for Dell is a joke. I've been referred to 3 different phone numbers after my first and I could barely understand what they were saying. The last phone number wasn't even a Dell phone number, it was Hewitt Packard! Lol. So...I've seen a couple videos on replacing graphic cards and it looks easy. Couple of my friends told me it would be no problem. This being my first time, I've been stumped quickly. The problem: Usually the screws that need to be unscrewed are easily to find. When I open up the PC, I see a flap to pull up to make it easy to release the card, but I can't find screws to loosen it. None are visable. I'm scared to just yank it out. The end that's attached to the left feels stuck in place, only the side with the flap moves a little. I have a Dell XPS Studio 8100. Trying to get rid of the graphics card and install a new one. Any recommendations? Please.
  15. Okay, I see I'm not the only one getting error messages and not being able to download any mods. I wanted to get some armors for Type 3 Alice body replacer and out of five different mods I tried, I kept getting the same error message "No file exists for this ID". I figured there was some maintenance going on or something, but I didn't see any type of news alerting the community about anything. Hopefully all will be back to normal soon. Till then New Vegas will have to wait.
  16. I would have never complained because of all the work you guys do to make this site so well organized and user friendly. This is amazing news though. I've always wanted the mods separated to make things easier to find. I'm sure a lot of people appreciate this a lot. Thank you.
  17. I really do love The Witcher and I'm happy to see this kit released. There are so few mods available currently and none specifically that I use. I would definitely play a lot more of it if some great mods were released to enhance the whole adventure. This really is good news for such a great game.
  18. Yeah, I had a feeling backing up was the way to go. Sadly, as easy as it may be, I honestly don't even know how to back up my files. Something I should have learned long ago. As for just uninstalling, I think it overrides some basic files, so if I were to uninstall them, there would be missing files needed and I'd CTD or get something messy on screen. Either way, lesson learned. Thanks for the responses.
  19. I tried a mod to change the dirt face options to beauty marks and found I prefer the original dirt presets more. I can reinstall the game, but I've been doing that a lot lately and I'd like to just be able to find a workaround if possible. Is there a way to do it? I've looked around and have had no success in locating something like this. Most people are trying to replace the dirt options or get rid of them altogether. If a reinstall is the only way, then I guess that's what I need to do.
  20. I noticed in the tutorials section there seems to be some information on armors and weapons which I'd love to learn someday, but since there are so many available by talented modders, I'm in no hurry. Loadscreens is entirely different. I've seen one video on manipulating loadscreens on Youtube, but I don't think that will do in my case. I'm looking for a detailed explanation on how to make your own custom loadscreens. I'd like to insert images of my own taste to completely replace the vanilla loadscreens. Since Skyrim's loadscreens last longer than any other game I've encountered, this would be a very nice option. Is there any good tutorials on something like this available? I'm not experienced at modding at all. This might just be a bad idea for someone like me, but I'd really like to do this. It seems to me this shouldn't be too difficult a task. Unfortunately, I don't see hardly any mods out there that offer much in this area. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
  21. I reinstalled game and I left out as many mods as i could to still be happy. They add up fast. The only other thing I can think of, using FOMM, I've taken mods out of the game and continued with previous saves. Not sure if that was a problem. I tested my game when reinstalling every few mods I added. i have like 30 of them. That's not too bad, right? So far it seems ok, but I'm at level 2 so I guess we'll see how it goes. I really love using the console cheats. I've never bought guns because of the dropped weapons and the mods used. Same goes for armor. I'd like to start using the work benches and fireplaces to craft, but the console stuff is too tempting. I'll just hope for the best. Thanks for the quick reply flamenx01.
  22. I've finally been able to collect a basic set of mods I like and for some reason my game is lagging like crazy. I'm trying not to use too many mods, just a basic collection. I do use console commands for some cheats, I know...bad. I use cheats for stimpacks if I'm going too low or get into trouble and the worst cheat I abuse is the ammo. The ammo is weightless so I carry a good amount, probably too much. Can it have an effect on gameplay? It hasn't before, so I don' think that's it, but I have no clue for the sudden change in my gameplay. The worst of the lag I get is when using my Pipboy. I do have a modded Pipboy, though that wasn't a problem in the past either. The only new mods I'm using are armor mods. They're not crazy high resolution mods, so I don't think they'd be a problem. I'm stumped. I'm going to try BOSS to see if it helps. FNV Edit looks scary, I don't want to touch it since I don't really understand it yet and in it's description it says to "use at your own risk". Sounds like something I'd screw up. So back to the basic question, are there console commands I should stay away from? I think I've read they can break your game, but I don't know.
  23. I managed to get past one glitch with the floating problem at Tel Mithryn, now at Nchardak I'm CTD'n like crazy. Not a fun place to have that happen with the puzzles. It's not hard, just irritating. I have like 30 mods and half of them are armor. Nothing like ENB stuff or any alteration much from the vanilla game. FNIS is about the only animation mod I use. For some reason, I think that might be it. It was the same issue with Tel Mithryn. Skyrim was extremely stable before Dragonborn. Now I just don't want to play it with it's current condition. Like suckowski, I had no issues at all with Dawnguard or Hearthfire. I don't think Bethesda's concerned with FNIS or modded content that conflicts with the original design. So I guess we're looking to the modders for patches or anyone else for some help. I'll keep an eye on the forums to see what progress is made and put Skyrim on the shelf for a bit.
