Replacing MC portrait with a custom image one

Hey guys,

 

I've been trying to change the MC portrait for hours and failed. Actually, any character that uses a portrait made by the crappy character creator doesn't work since it gives me an infinite loading screen. There's no issue with changing the image used by the backer ones though, who already use a custom image portrait.

 

 

Anyways, I was wondering if anybody found out a way to replace the MC portrait with a custom one like the backers got, and if so whether they could share how they managed it.

You might be able to go into SimGameConstants.json and change "CommanderPilotDefID" : "pilot_commander", into an ID that uses the avatar you want. You should be able to add a new pilot and edit it to your liking including different voices and such.
