[LE] Link all Crafting Chests in all Player Homes

Recommended Posts

As the title says, I want to link all my Player Home Crafting Chests. For example, Elysium Estate has it to where you can throw all your soul gems in the Soul Gem (chest), and then you can pull them out at any of the other Soul Gem (chests).
Now what I want to do is have that option be universal with all my installed player homes. So if I put Soul Gems in Elysium, they'll show up in my Solitude Home.

I'm not new to modding but I'm relatively new to things of this nature so my plan right now, was to go into the CK, and right click to edit a chest that does this in Elysium. See whatever is written there that causes the "link", and then copy that exact data through all the chests in my player homes that I want those item types to go into. And then I guess create an ESP out of that edit.

Does this sound possible? Anyone with some experience want to explain to me how THEY would go about doing this?

Thanks for all your time guys! Let's keep this modding community growing into a shared experience of epic proportions.

I'm not skilled at this either, but I was able to do something close (for special edition only) by following Chesko's tutorial. If you download Campfire (prerequisite for Frostfall) and use the link to Chesko's website, there is a very simple, easy to follow, tutorial in which you can make craftable containers. Basically you're making a container in a storage cell, and then linking the craftables to it. You can place those where you want, in each home, and get to your inventory from wherever that specific container is. That is to say if you make a chest, an urn, a sack, and a barrel, all your chests will have the same items, all your urns, all your sacks, etc. The placement uses an indicator and needs to be at ground level, but once you've got the hang of making them, you could easily use creation kit to place them where you want in your houses.

You can do it with Vanilla Skyrim, No Mods or SKSE too.

The first time I did it, it just require a tiny little bit of research. You know, it not that hard, let me give a you a clue to get you started.

  • GetLinkedRef.

Why make it more complicated than what it has to be? First you create the link with Creation Kit, then there is a vanilla default script to use, to bring it all together. Or you can copy it to make your own.

PS all those mods just copy Bethesda, like I just told you to do. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. They didn't, trust me.

Cheers.
