[LE] Merging All NPC Replacers into 1 Mod

Recommended Posts

There has GOT to be a way to choose all the NPC's I want, and wrap them up into one neatly packaged mod for myself. Has anyone done this?

I've got Bijjin AIO, Womens Faces, Botox, Males, Realistic Faces, Improved Bards, Females of Riverwood, Ordinary Women, and a billion follower mods. Like, literally a billion...

There's got to be a way to combine all these into one ESP.

Tell me I'm right. Please for the love of god tell me I'm right. All I'm asking is for a perfect Skyrim here. :)

Thanks bunches you lovely people!

yep, the only thing is dialogue, avoid merging mods with dialogue, use a merge App, if ya crappy or have no idea about how to merge ASSETS for said mods, cause you will bite more than you can chew with xEdit merge.

  • XEdit plugin.

  • I recommend you use this: Merge Plugins.

Lots of these mods I named have the same NPCs, and I don't neccisarily want the lowest mod in my load order replacing ALL of the other NPC mods. So I guess more precisely, my question is, can I QUICKLY copy and paste NPC's from certain mods, over into one mod, without having to manually find all their facegen, meshes, and textures, along with using their form ID's to remove the ones I DONT want in TESVedit?

To be honest, I only do manual merges, since it allows me to merge mods that both of those methods can't do, or get errors. But this not recommend to do since the first step is loading the mods in TES5Edit, manually renumbering the formID of all said Mods,(none of the renumber ID should match, they should all be unique[i hope you know what hexadecimals are?]) requiring that old FaceGen Nif & Textures get renamed to the new FormID, the body & Armor nif with textures, if pack in a bsa will need to be unpacked.

At this stage check for the grey face bug, if you did it right, it shouldn't happen, then find some old post from cira 2011 ~ 2014 about merging mods, follow what they tell you to do about a deep override copy. Copying all the esps onto a new merged one, then removing the re-numbered ones (esp) has masters

Check it working, if yes, pack all asset, including renamed FaceGen into a BSA for a neat & tidy Data folder. Is the gist of it, practices make perfect, read has many of those old posts has you find. The ones that Pre-Date both of the above methods, they are Gold.

Oh, create a patch before you renumber the FormID, to get your desired result with duplicate NPC who are being overwritten, included it in the merge intelligently. I don't believe you will get it right the first time, (or second) but we learn from of mistakes.

So RESEARCH OLD POSTS, before you do anything. But you can have exactly what you what want, if you can pull it off.

Good luck, that is a hell of a lot of work.. I hope you think it worth it, cause here there the bad news,

Clean Save Required

I would not do this in an existing playthru. I shite you not. And if you pull it off, BACK IT UP.

Of course none of the Mods can have Dialogue.

To any one reading that, we had to do that once upon a time, you don't. Unless your getting errors with the two methods above , don't do it. And there still no guarantee it will work, you need to intimately known how the mods works. To get all working correctly!
