@rastafariel

Here's why

I'm running Skyrim 1.1 for LAA

The CK needs the latest version. And the LAA is now built in. Allow steam to patch your game and the CK.

If you don't have steam, then please go away as we do not support pirates here.

Part of the reason NMM is not working is the location you have installed it, Steam and the game.

Install Steam and the game in C:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim.

The reason is Program Files in Windows runs a security program (called UAC) that limits how files are run. UAC can be turned off, but its better if you install Steam and Skyrim out from under Program Files to resolve some problems.

To uninstall the game and to reinstall it so it is "clean" without any corrupted files, follow the directions from either of these two pages to uninstall the game.

http://howto-uninstall.windowsuninstaller.org/how-to-uninstall-skyrim-skyrim-removal-guide/

http://uninstall-guides.specialuninstaller.com/uninstall-skyrim-remove-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/

Reinstall Steam and the game onto your computer, just remember not to install it under Program Files.

After its reinstalled run disk defragmenter on your computer.

Install NMM (again , not in Program Files) and see if this solves the problem of mods running.

A bit of advice.

Download NMM to your hard drive and then install it - don't install it across the internet.

Kdaj: I have not had the problem you are describing, and it appears to be a new one. :-(

Did you try everything that worked for other people in this thread? WETrigger error

One solution was to completely uninstall steam (including the registry files and residual folders, using something like cc cleaner) and reinstall.

Rasta: The problem you are describing is how it actually works. The first time I loaded the creation kit it literally took forever. (ok not exactly literally....) but a really long time. I finally went and did something else and then cam back because I couldn't take it. It will say stuff like the message you describe, and it will eventually give you some error messages, just click yes to all. Even after the first time it requires patience but that first time..... Just to check, you are clicking on the file button and loading the Skyrim esp plus whatever else you want (if any) for an active file?

I found the creation kit tutorial/guide to be really helpful. There are video tutorials too, but I am old school. Here is the link to what I use: Creation Kit

If you get to needing to use a registry cleaner, from what I've heard, It wouldn't be a bad idea to also use a HDD sweeper\ cleaner at the same time. Just for Steam and Skyrim.
