I was browsing the Skyrim nexus and I found an awesome sword, but I don't play Skyrim much so, because they both use .nif and .dds file formats would it be possible to make a Skyrim weapon into a New Vegas weapon?

I'm not asking for someone to do it for me because I like to learn how to do things so please someone tell me how to do it not just do it.

Thanks. The sword is http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=16174

OOHHHH OOOHHH i know this one!

i did something just like it recently

1.download sword

2.put the meshes &textures in your nv meshes and textures !!!!but remember the folder names

3.open geck-load nv only

4. go to weapons tab, right click>new

5>i recommend also opening an existing vegas meelle weapon so you dont make a god weapon (unless thats the idea)

6. set up the name and fill out all the tabs-tell it what mesh&texture to use

7. now for sounds- i would just use the stock vegas melee sounds good enough.

8.once the new weapon form is done hit ok, then load up a cell - i like victors shack in good springs but it doesnt matter as long as you remember where.

9. drop a few copies of the new sword into the cell>go there in game and test it

now all that being said, it would be easier to actually show you than tell you

also ive never tried pulling stuff from another game so you might run into a scale issue>the sword ends up being huge or too tiny

another thing, be sure to check the melee weapon option in the weapon creation menu

hope this helps, if you understood any of it id be amazed im so tired rite now >.<

I've never tried to edit skyrim body and armor meshes, but I think they use a different skeleton. That means to use a body replacer you would have to import it all into Blender and re-parent the body mesh to the fallout skeleton, and then since Blender never seems to do the bone weights properly you would have to re-weight the mesh as well. It's a fair amount of work, but it could be done.

If by some chance the skyrim meshes use the same skeleton then things get a LOT easier, but I don't think they do.
