Kry11ic
So, as we all know, the Daedric and Dragon armor is pretty much the best armor and weapons in the game of Skyrim. No matter what you do, it will always be better than any other armor in the game. I find that absurd. I want to be able to wear other armor, such as elven armor or orcish armor, without knowing that I could instead be wearing the Daedric armor and have more protection. Honestly, I feel like it takes away from the "character personality customization" if that makes any sense. So, I have a request for a mod that changes this. So, Depending on what race you play as will determine what armor you get a significant bonus in: High Elves: Elven armor and weapons Argonian: Glass armor and weapons Wood Elves: Dwarven armor and weapons Breton: Scaled and Plated armor and iron weapons Dark Elves: Ebony armor and weapons Imperial: Steel armor and weapons Khajiit: Leather and hide armor and iron weapons Nord: Steel armor and weapons Orc: Orcish armor and weapons Redguard: Scaled and Plated armor and iron weapons So, with this mod, even Orcish armor can be twice as better as daedric or dragon armor (so long as you're playing as an orc). If anyone has any questions or concerns, please just post up a comment. Otherwise, I would REALLY love it for this mod to actually be made, and not just float around here on the Mod Request forums. Thank you :D+ PS. Sorry about the title, completely forgot to edit it. I didn't know what to name this thread, so I just put "races" as a place holder and forgot to change it. SORRY! eschaeon
Yeah but now this makes it dependent on race though. What if I'm playing a Khajit but prefer orcish armor? It'd be a better idea to make it a series of perks. You can then pick up multiple perks to basically make each armor set the same or only allow you to pick up one. Although making any armor "twice as better" as daedric is a bit much.
BrabbelKP
It's actually impossible without greater changes to the armour-system in general. There is a maximal armour rating you can have with the Heavy/Light Armour skill at 100, all perks and armour tempered to max level. Kaldelar
I'll chime in with this: the armour cap is at 567, so that with perks and smithing (flawless, epic, legendary, you know), you can reach the cap while wearing significantly lighter or "worse" armour. Assuming you have the perks, you can couple that with enough enchanting (enhance smithing) and enchanting and smithing potions to reach the armour cap with non-Dragon/Daedric armours. Although making any armor "twice as better" as daedric is a bit much.Well not so much. Each character will be suited to their armor type. So if you're playing as a Khajiit, you're more likely to want to be a stealthy character, where hide and leather provide very light armor and makes very little noise. You won't be sneaking around in a heavy, bulky suit of armor that notifies everyone, will you? And it's not like all other armor will be useless, just not as effective as your type of armor Also, I was saying twice as much as somewhat of an exaggeration. I was just implying that Orcish armor will be better than daedric. Edited May 1, 2012 by Kry11ic
Kry11ic
And as for the "perks" I'm not so sure. I wanted to implement the races so that it can really verify the races, so that when you choose, you're choosing more of a class rather than just a different looking character. Like I said, it's not really the fact that other armor and weapons will be useless, just the ones that your race is entitled to is more effective than all the others. IF you wish to use Dwarven or Ebony armor and weapons, play as either a Dark Elf or High Elf. If you already have a Khajiit character, then leather and hide will most likely suit you better than a heavy set of Orcish armor. But this doesn't mean if you play as a Khajiit, Orcish armor is useless, it will still be the vanilla armor rating.
