cheesyfof
I am hoping to get a ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard and a Sapphire HD 7850 GPU, but noticed that the GPU requires a PCI Express 3.0 and the motherboard only has PCI Express 2.0s, but i'm not sure whether they will work together or not, as I am clueless when it comes to computers Any ideas as to whether they will work or not? hoofhearted4
as he said, your all set. PCIe3 is the newest PCI express, but its backwards compatible with PCIe2....and actually as of now, no ew carda re even taking advantage of the PCIe3 bus lane, and the difference between the two, even with the new 7000/600 series of cards, is absolutely nothing. so yea. your all set :) though, may i ask...are you getting a CPU as well? or just the new motherboard? cheesyfof
well, it is a whole new computer, probably should have mentioned that too http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/happy.gif Motherboard : http://www.ebuyer.co...abertooth-990fx GPU : http://www.ebuyer.co...rt-11200-01-20g Processor : http://www.ebuyer.co...3-hdz965fbgmbox Edited May 1, 2012 by cheesyfof
hoofhearted4
i only ask, cause intel would be a better choice then AMD, but only if you were going to be getting one of AMDs big flagship CPUs., AMD just cant hold a candle to Intel anymore. although i will say, the 965 you plan on getting is one of AMDs better CPUs, and OCs very very well. but at the price range your going, AMD is definitely a good choice. so my point is moot. :P
