Aterons
Hello, il try to keep this simply I played skyrim up to around level 40 2 times now, i find the game really easy past level 20 as it is... adding to it the mega stunt you get from 2 hand spell casting i find playing my favorite "class" ( if you can call them so in skyrim ) the Mage/warlock to be a really easy task past the first few hours of the game and kinda boring sometimes with all the kiting going on ( played so many mmos and rpg that i don't think i ever do "mistakes" while kiting now thus making it even less interesting ). So what i want to ask is... could you suggest me some mods that : increase some of the boss/dungeon ending enemies difficulty thus making it a little harder for me as a mage to simply go and kill all of them to get my bis items right of the bat change some of the spells ( and remove the god damn stunt from them ) and add new ones so that the mage becomes more about "which spell to use" and less about " do i want to run 1 minute to recharge mana so that i can spam another 10 firebolts on this guy or do i want to waste a pot and than have to waste 1 minute transmuting iron to gold to make the money for the potions So yeah... any mods that you found helpful and that increased difficulty in a "good" way for a mage/warlock playtrough would be highly appreciated. Well... didn't kept it that simple :P
thompsonar
You should take a look at Unlevelled World I haven't used it but it's supposed to make the beginning of the game harder. It also has a list of some other difficulty increasing mods on its description page. I don't know of one that changes the stagger perk, but you could look in the magic section of the mods, I'm sure there is something. I use balanced magic, and midas magic spells. They're good but I feel like balanced magic makes it even easier to be a mage (it does have different difficulties and I picked one in the middle). Midas magic adds a ton of spells and makes them somewhat difficult to actually get. I don't know of any mod that is going to change the gameplay though. I feel like as a mage you're always going to spam spells over and over and have to kite the melee opponents while waiting for you magicka to regenerate. I mean really I would think making the enemies harder would just make you have to do this more. Might be a dumb question but have you increased the difficulty in the menu to master? Aterons
Yes, I only played on master... thought i mentioned in the post but might have forgot I took a look at those spell mods but most of them seem to add more powerful/shiny sell but nothing like... say.. a rework of wards so they are actually worth using in non specific situations on master or "buffs" so that stoneskin and what not isn't a "chore" to cast but rather a " if you have this level in x school of magic you get a magic armor improvement"... reward type of thing.Honestly, I made this post since last time i checked for improved difficulty/magic mods i saw little of them but thought that if a few months and creator kit released passed there be a lot of "hiden gems" now, browsing trough them now however i don't find a lot of them :(The Unlevelled World seems kind of against what i want... aka harder enemies at higher levels but some of the related mods might help me <.<
thompsonar
Yeah I don't know of one that does exactly what you're looking for. You could always start a topic on the mod requests forum. I assume you've checked over the magic overhauls? I know some rework the perks and spell effects but I don't know to what extent. There's another mod that makes enemies level up longer than in vanilla. I think it's called something like "enhanced high level play" or something like that. It adds enemies up to level 50-60. I haven't downloaded or tested a lot of these overhaul mods as I am waiting for the base game to stabilize (as in not new patches every few weeks) and for the mods to work out their glitches. Seems to me like you're looking for a mod that affects the AI more than just their health / damage. I think it will just take some time for these to appear. edit: HERE is that mod I mentioned. Haven't tried it though Edited May 2, 2012 by thompsonar
