Many thanks for the help, I think you've confirmed my suspicion that you just can't retexture the inventory object with a texture set :(

Oh bugger! Well, kudos to you both as it has been a good exercise in testing out some limitations of the CK.

So, did you have to edit the nif?

I've got a couple of mods with books in now that I've just cobbled together textures for, don;t wanna redo them "properly" until I can do the inventory model too.

EDIT: meant to say, they're really nice, good work!

I've retextured my book also. Yes, you have to duplicate and edit the nif of the Inventory Art model, but not the World Art model.

@AlphaWolF what does the back cover of your Witcher book look like? Does it have "Witcher" spelled backwards on it???

Most books use the same texture for the front and back cover. I found that the cover texture will be put on the back cover flipped horizontally. Also, part of the front cover bleeds onto the back cover but you won't normally notice this if the art on the cover is relatively small.

I found a book "bookskyrim.nif" which has separate textures for the front and back covers. I still had to flip the back cover horizontally to get the text to display in the "left-to-right" orientation. However, I still had the problem with the front cover texture bleeding onto the back cover. In the end I had to make sure that the covers were identically colored, and that any art on the front cover had to keep a relative distance of about 30% from the edges of the book so it wouldn't bleed onto the back cover - so I couldn't use a design that filled the entire front cover. Did you have any problems like this, AlphaWolF?
