Heartcloud
I just finished the first dragon quest (heading to the west guard tower and slay the first dragon with the dark elf guard captain). Then I try to fast travel back to Whiterun (for some reason Dragonsreach waypoint is disabled?), it doesn't crash to desktop right away, but the moment it has finished loading, it immediately crashes. CTDs also happen randomly, pretty frequently in the middle of smithing or trying on outfits. Surprisingly it has never crashed in the middle of combat (which I presume to be most system-intensive) ... yet.- I'm running the latest patch (1.5.something), on Windows 7 64-bit- I haven't installed any HD texture packs (my GPU can't handle it), unless mods like OrientalBeauty and CBBBLE count- As for other mods I don't have any overhauls, but I do have stuff like DanceOfDeath, ApachiiHair, animation replacers, and lots of outfits.- I tried setting EVERY graphics setting possible to minimum (including shadows)- I turned off Vsync- I set audio to 24bit in control panel- I ran BOSS to sort mod load orderAnyone know of any solutions? Googled CTD threads but all of them were talking about patch 1.3.x.
Georgiegril
Is it possible that with all of your mods you have exceeded the 2G RAM limit?
Heartcloud
Wasn't that 2GB RAM cap fixed in some of the recent updates? I thought only <1.2 or something needed the 4GB RAM fix.
Georgiegril
I heard that it was, but I've also heard that people with cavernous RAMs appear to still shut down at 2GB.You mention that your GPU cant handle hi-tex, what card do you have, with how much VRAM?Have you run a program like GPU Monitor to find out how much of your VRAM Skyrim actually utilizes? (I use NVidia system monitor) Also on the BOSS, did you run that today? And did you hand place any unrecognized files?Have you tried to remove your most recent mods, the ones that you added just before the problem started? fms1
What video card are you using and what size textures for bodys and armors? EDIT: and do you know your FPS? Edited May 3, 2012 by fms1
ErikRedbeard
Are you by any chance using any sort of mod that adds new caves, areas or houses, or drastically change the layout of one (exluding furniture)? If so one of those is probably crashing your game.
