CrazedBanana
So I've been playing skyrim on my PC for a while now, and just recently, I've begun encountering two problems. Number one, I constantly hear bursts of crackling static. Number two, much more serious, is large parts of certain dungeons simply aren't loading, including Dustman's Cairn, and the Pumping Station in Blackreach. I can't find any thing about these problems, and the crackling has nothing to do with speaker quality, I can assure you.
Georgiegril
When does the static occur? Are you doing anything (using your mouse) keyboard, specific actions etc. Have you checked to see if your sound card needs to be updated? I know it sounds obvious, but have you checked your connections (speakers, etc). When did you last blow out your computer to get the dust out? Dust increases static electricity and can cause static sounds and worse. So if none of that is the problem, what are your computer specs (CPU, GPU, Sound card), mods installed and version of Skyrim?YOu say you were playing without this trouble for a while, can you think of anything you changed just before this started (add/remove mod, use of console commands to make changes to quests, etc)
CrazedBanana
I'll try blowing out dust, thanks! And I haven't downloaded any quest editing mods that I'm aware of, I only have Beautiful Whiterun, some Armor addons, and Mghty Magic. My game still runs at top speed on the highest setting with little or no lag, just, some cells won't load. I'm not sure what version I'm running. Schabernack
I'll try blowing out dust, thanks! As for the sound issue, it only occurs after killing anything on preferably uneven ground, so it might be caused by some part of a mesh kind of stuttering downside the hill, well no idea actually. Anyway, I think I found a solution for the second problem. I had several housing mods installed and tried diasabling them one after the other. Dungeons were loading again when I disabled Dragon Falls Manor as this mod is stated by Mattcm919(its creator) to have massive clutter lying around outside the house. Well, if you don't have that mod installed then I would probably guess it's Beautiful Whiterun that causes the trouble as it probably features a lot of clutter, too. In conjunction with a high value of uGridsToLoad this might cause some kind of memory overflow -> no memory left to load mesehes and textures of dungeons in time. So, see if that works for you and keep us posted :-) Edited May 3, 2012 by Schabernack
CrazedBanana
Thanks, I'll try that out! And the crackling happens whether or not something's recently dead, it appears to be completely at random.
Schabernack
Thanks, I'll try that out! And the crackling happens whether or not something's recently dead, it appears to be completely at random. Hmm, seems to be some different sort of "crackling" then. On top, I can't really say that my version of the crackling really annoyed me at any time, just had to take a few steps and it was gone. Good luck with that, anyway!

Ithiliriana
How did you end up solving the "area not loading" thing? I have the same issue and am deactivating mods left right and centre to see if that's it, but nothing seems to help.
Schabernack
Do you have any mods that add a lot of new meshes to the main exterior/world cell? I think mods like player homes might cause that problem if they feature to much junk in their backyards. My best guess so far is the Dragon Falls Manor mod which caused the problem in my case. If you don't have that mod installed you could give us a list of the ones you have.
