Allamorte
I recently had to fix the skyrim double esm bug, but another strange issue arose. Now, every time I press F5 to quick save, enter a new cell, or pick up an item, the game plays an annoying stab sound as if I just hit someone with a sword. Any ideas as to what is causing this? Georgiegril
Question, you are using F5 for quicksave and activate item?
Allamorte
No, I'm just saying that this occurs when I press F5 to quicksave AND when I activate an item......upon closer examination, I believe it occurs on save and when I receive an item... Allamorte
Thanks for the try...I'm not exactly used to diagnosing and repairing these things in skyrim since it was so much easier in Oblivion and Morrrowind......
murdilator
Hey I'm getting the same problems. Post if you find a solution, because currently I am also out of luck.
Acesino
i have this problem too. I think it happens when ever a message is displayed at the top left.
EnigManic
i have this problem too. I think it happens when ever a message is displayed at the top left. I concur. Whenever a message pops up, like a reminder that I'm over-encumbered, and whenever I harvest an alchemy ingredient, it makes that annoying sound. I think it started after I installed Sounds of Skyrim, though I'm not 100% certain.
murdilator
I have had Sounds of Skyrim installed for a while. I just got the "Crash Fix" for it. Did you get this fix too? Maybe it's causing this turmoil. Edited May 16, 2012 by murdilator
murdilator
I removed the Crash Fix .esps and replaced them with the original SoS (note: I downloaded mine separately, and so they are two files; Wilds, and Dungeons). No more slicing and dicing for me when I hit F5, get pop-up messages, or use key! Hope this helps. I also use BOSS to organize my mods, SoS appears near the top. Maybe load-order may affect it as well.
