egga
It has been stated many times in game that when a Nord is dead, they will go to Sovngarde. I kept thinking, what about other race like imperial, breton, elves, etc. In Oblivion, it is said that when a person dead they will go to Aetherius. Does that mean other races than Nord will go to Aetherius as the after-life? Does anyone has the answer of this?
Rennn
Well, the Khajiit and Argonians aren't even normal races. The Argonians came with the Hist from "another place", so they'd go to some other place entirely after death. The Khajiit are either more or less feral depending on the moon phase of their birth, and they don't technically count as men or mer, which is why the Dunmer used to keep Argonians and Khajiit as slaves before the Red Year. Because of this, if they'd even go anywhere is up for grabs. Maybe they have a deity that we haven't seen yet. The Orsimer would presumably go to Malacath's side. The Dunmer, IDK, but they usually show up as ghosts, lol. Maybe they hang around as spirits for their descendents to revere? The Imperials generally believe they'll go to Aetherius. I don't know the main religion of the country where Redguard's are from. In fact, it's quite possible that you actually go somewhere based on what you believe instead of based on your race since Daedra worshippers can be chosen to enter the realm of their chosen Daedric Lord. For example, maybe an Imperial who worshipped mainly Talos and who was a great warrior could get into Sovngarde with the Nords. I have no idea about the Falmer, the Altmer, or the Bosmer. Presumably the insane people go to Sheogorath, since Pelagius seemed to be in his thrall. It's said that Werewolves go to be Hircine's hunting hounds when they die, but I don't know about vampires. Where the Dwemer went and why is still debated. Some people think their science got too powerful for the Daedra to let them live, and that they were whisked away to be tormented by one of the Daedric Lords after the Dwemer questioned and insulted one of them. Others think that since the Dwemer were telepathic, they might have organized as an entire race to leave on a great journey. Others think that their Falmer slaves multiplied out of control and hunted the Dwemer to extinction in their tunnels. I doubt they practiced a religion, and it's clear that neither the Aedra nor the Daedra are actually all-powerful, with the Aedra having lost a great amount of therefore finite power creating the world, and with the Daedra being bound mostly to their realms, so perhaps the Dwemer found a way to get around death entirely. Edited to incorporate revised, more accurate information from subsequent answers, in order to banish lore unfriendliness. egga
Well, Skyrim only shows that Sovngarde is like the heaven for Nords and it seems like Nord is the only race who has it. In fact, it's quite possible that you actually go somewhere based on what you believe instead of based on your race Maybe I'll use this as a conclusion. Although it's quite confusing when I think about the Dragonborn who (seems like) worship both Aedra and Daedra (if we choose so). Unless, doing the daedric quest doesn't mean the Dragonborn worship them.
sajuukkhar9000
It isn't impossible for other races to go to Sovengard, Shor just has to take you. Daedra worshipers can go to their respective lord's realm, should the Daedra lord choose them. Everyone else goes to Atherius and the dreamsleeve, there they have their souls cleaned of memories and then sent back to Mundus.
