Need help with bare arm/sleeveless mesh

Basically, I've got an armor mesh that only has a sleeve on the left arm thus leaving the right arm bare. Everything looks fine in nifskope textures and all. However, when I load the mesh ingame the bare arm is not attached to the armor mesh and remains floating alongside the character and is nor following animations, nor does it have any textures. I'm still new to modding, but I've already finished the boots, gauntlets and helm for this armor and followed the same process I used to get those in game, the only difference being that this time I have two trishapes instead of one. I've compared my nif to other's that have bare arms showing and from what I can tell mine is set up the same, weights and all, but it refuses to work in game so apparently I'm missing something and would really appreciate some advice on correcting this issue.

 

for information purposes:

 

1. The mesh for the armor itself is entirely custom and works in-game perfectly except for the floating bare arm issue.

2. This nif has two trishapes, one for the armor and one for the bare arm ( which I stole directly from a vanilla armor that had bare arms)

3. The bare arm is weighted to the skeleton, at least as far as I can tell, I used the skin wrap modifier in max to weight it myself. I've also tried just importing an already weighted skeleton with bare arms just to see if I did it wrong, but I still get the floating arm.

4. This is my first mod and my first time using nifskope and max, so it is entirely possible I effed up somewhere.

5. HELP!
