DarnUI- Can't get past this screen

So after upgrading to Win7, Fallout 3 once again runs like it should. Trying to put a few mods back in, but having some odd issues. First up is DarnUI- first thing I notice is the DarnUI logo doesn't show up on the main menu like I remember. Then, after I load up a save and hit ESC, this appears-

- and I can't get past it. Whatever I'm supposed to click is off-screen, and hitting Enter (sometimes after tapping various arrow keys) does nothing. I tried upping my screen resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x960, but I get the same results.

I tried ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated, but it crashes on startup. Is this a side effect? Would unpacking the BSAs help? Or maybe I should pack my mods into BSAs- Ling's Coiffure is packed up like that and works fine.

Will continue to experiment, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

might this be due to your smaller resolution?

try looking at the mod's page for information on this , or even see if the pictures show how this is supposed to look like

I just think that DarnUI might have been configured for specific resolutions or aspect ratios , so you may just be missing buttons at the bottom of the screen (but I haven't played the game in years , so I really don't recall what is on that page)

but from the way it's cut at the top and maybe at the bottom , this seems like the issue is with your aspect ratio or resolution

There is nothing broken with the mod, I have been using it for years at 1920x1080, along with thousands of other people.

Which version of DarnUI are you using? Is it the latest one?

Did you install the game to the default location (Program Files). If you did, then DUI will not be applied to the game.

Did you make the changes to the fonts as explained in the install instructions? Again, these changes will not be made if the game is in Program Files.

I see you have Games for Windows Live active. This would lead me to believe that you do not have FOSE installed.

Quoted from the mod page:

"Should you experience CTD's or other difficulties,

  • Make sure to edit the ini properly
  • Verify that all files are where they should be
  • Make sure none of the files are listed in ArchiveInvalidation.txt
  • Test the mod by itself - no other mods installed"
