Massive Monster Mod Additions WIP

I have begun work on a big project which will make dogtown1's Monster Mod much more immersive and challenging by making changes across all of Skyrim. It will be another installment of my Monster Mod Additions series which I plan on being the ultimate momod expansion, with optional esps to work with the ones out already.

 

I am setting up battles, invasion parties, new creatures, rewards, domesticated monsters, more monster placements, bosses and more. I am working on adding shapeshifting capabilities via levelled lists or reward, possible followers, bouties, and maybe new weapons using some resource mods (Gizmodians and Urwy are my favourite ones atm).

 

I have got some interesting encounters set up with more to come, here are a few:

 

- Bilegulch Mine - The falmers and ogres have dug their way out of the mountains beside a bandit camp, who are engaged in combat as you arrive. More bandits have been placed to meet the challenge.

- Morthal - Giants and Treants have decided to take a detour through the village, which ends up in brawl.

- Windhelm - A clan of daedra are marching toward the town, they must be stopped before they reach the gates!

- Ysgramors Tomb - The word wall outside has been overrun by skeletal undead, including a cursed dragon which sits on wall.

- Falkreath - Creatures will attempt to wander through the town, but the added sentries are there to stop them although they will still need your help.

- Dushnikh Yal - A group of deadra are making their way in the direction of this village, which is better defended in preparation

- Dragon Island - north of the smuggler boat east of solitude (in the quest where you put out the Solitude lighthouse)

- Mor Khazgur - More Falmers and Ogres are attempting to invade this small town with the help of their Giant Ogre (boss).

These are different enemy types found on a small dragon type populated island - Swamp dragon, swamp deadroth, swamp drake, and sea dragon

There are going to be other fun encounters including a cat themed faction with khajiit, werecats, sabrecats, and wildcats. There will also be several daedra attack clans and battles, more boss fights and more stuff like that.

 

There are a few grey areas I could use some help with if anyone wants to contribute in helping out - the shapeshifting script I have wont compile for me and I have little scripting experience, if anyone confident enough thinks they could fix it I would appreciate it and include you in the mod description for your trouble :thumbsup: . That's the main problem at the moment, there was a page with the info but the author decided to take it down but I saved it beforehand in txt format with a tutorial and papyrus and I can send you the link if you can help out.

 

This mod may take a few weeks to finish and look really good, so any feedback you want to give me is cool. I need a cool title for the mod :tongue: , and if you have other ideas or suggestions let me know :thumbsup:

Thanks to dogtown1 I have a better cat mesh to work with, the face and normal map texture have been improved :biggrin:

The next step is to try and get it as a follower, I have NPC video tutorials from youtube but they don't work for animals and monsters. If someone could send me helpful link that would be great, I have tried duplicating it's race in the CK and adding "allow pc dialogue" but it turns invisible and doesn't talk. Any help at all would be great!

 

If I don't fix the issue soon it may have to wait for a later update (if it's fixable)

Well I spent several hours last night trying to fix it using different methods but I can't work it out, I don't want to spend too much time on this because the encounters are the main part of this mod and this will just hold me back. The main problem is setting up an animal race that has "allow pc dialogue" flagged but makes it invisible, then it's a case of adding dialogue. FYI creatures like the guar, bullvore, dragon man, gargoyle, werewolf, hunger, ogre use the werewolf race as a template which allows interaction without dialogue which might be easier...?

 

This might be a long shot but if anyone wants to help out with this mod I would like to get Momod creatures as followers with the basic interaction - follow, wait, inventory, leave. If anyone can get working animal followers to function without coming invisible then you will be included in the mod "team", I would start an official team but I prefer to do the mod myself with a bit of help here and there.

 

Send me a PM if your interested and I will fill you in with more detail. I have some valid methods by David Brasher, who gave me some ideas using his Followers Unlimited but it's a bit complicated for me at the moment. Someone else may be a bit wiser on the subject?

I'm out the game until I get my cpu fixed, maybe a week or two? Right now i'm posting through and ancient piece of garbage.

Sad to hear it :( I hope nothing will get deleted in progress. I would love to play youre mod. Those Dragon people look awsome :) I think cat could use some work thou. Is it possable to make a baby sabre cat?

 

Ohh that reminds me... Why I never saw child of Khajiit or Argonian?

Very good point on the khajiit and argonian children, that sounds like a great immersion building mod though. I would give it go but to make it look good it would need custom meshes - one of the few things I can't do.

 

The sabre cat idea is good though, I could just do them smaller than usual and tweak the stats. Maybe down the line I could get some help making the mesh look like a sabre kitten?
