Have you activated them in the Skyrim Launcher (or mod manager you using)

Uh whatever, I'll respond.

Skyrim launcher sometimes has the tendency to turn off your mods. Click on data files and turn them on. Then load the game.

Another thing that would be a good idea is SKSE and running the game as admin. (Right click, select that)

SKSE is only needed for those mods that say they need it. You also MUST have the proper version of SKSE if it is needed or it won't work. The version of SKSE is updated every time Beth releases a new patch.

Then, you MUST start the game with the SKSE launcher every time you play the game (if you want it to work) and not the game launcher. The SKSE launcher runs SKSE, then automatically starts the game with SKSE active.

If you use NMM, you do not need to open the in game data tab as NMM passes the information on mods into the game bypasing the data tab.

Using NMM, you use the MODS tab to install after downloading - it doesn't matter if you download manually or auto download, the mod MUST show in the Mods tab for NMM to activate it. When activated, it will have a check in the box to the left of the mod name. THEN the mod will show on the Plugins tab where NMM shows the active mods - also with an check in the box to show it is active.

At that point, you can either exit NMM and it will save that info for use by the game when you start with either the game launcher or SKSE launcher OR, look just above the tabs to see a box labled 'Launch Skyrim' that will launch without SKSE. to change to mak it launch SKSE first, click on the tiny arrow to the right of the launch Skyrim box and from the dropdown menu select 'Launch SKSE' - NMM will remember your choice and next time will have the 'Launch SKSE' there already.
