why what and how really

why waht and how? ok... if someone could make my latest idea... there would be a city of duellists and adventurers somewhere near water...

whu what and how... ok

1 why: because of fun of betting. duelling and questing...

2 what: a city of duellists, adventurers... and maybe PIRATES cause i was thinking about of a port city :)

3 how: well... im not really a scripter or anything... im just designer of mods :)

and i was thinking about a guild (or few) like pirates guild (i know its done before but not very well) where you could take from the rich and give to the ones who need (in this case for yourself), duellists guild (you could travel trough cyrodiil and find duellists), adventurers guild (where you could have been sent to recover artifacts and discover mysteries) and something like that. ofc thats just my latest idea i have posted... maybe will not be maken but... it would be fun :)

Keep this simple.

A medieval fairground is a good idea, but its also very difficult to both implement and justify - certainly not a project I'm willing to take up at the moment.

I don't know how you got from Dueling to Pirates/Adventurer's guild. I intend to add a subtle quest line to these duals but that requires no guild. Leave Pirates for Pirate mods. Theres at least 12 in the making.

Maybe dueling will cause both combatants to equip special swords that does no damage but really drains the target's stamina, thus turning this into a stamina battle.

You may need a script to disable guards before a duel starts, and reenable it a few seconds after the duel ends (this way you can avoid glitching the re-enable part).

It is also optional to have a normal fight instead of stamina dueling, or maybe to train mages you can do magic duels where melee isn't allowed and you choose to use a quest staff of choice (like gun duels where you choose a choice of guns).

So a guild of fighters for handtohand fighting.

That would be so awesome... I would actually help out with this.

Edit: Make it like the thing on fable... That was awesome...

Every battle you have to have shirt off, sounds gay but real mean punch each other with no shirts on. Arr Arr Arr... cars and junk...

Like the arena where you have to have the raiment on, make it so that you have to have special bracers, pants, and shoes.

There'll be one in each city, however each want to combat in a different way. its a toss up between hand to hand, weapon and magic. I would put blunt and blade in different categories, but then you don't get good, fun blunt vs blade battles. A weapon will be given and forced into hand before battles and removed after to allow some equality. (A choice will be allowed for magic and weapon duels [fire/cold/thunder, blade/blunt respectively.)

The dueling suit is also a good idea, though I might just keep it to the fight club style no-shirt for some variety.

Jousting is a no go on my end. I can't figure out how I'd begin to code something like that. Save it for the experts.

I like the request and would definitely like to see this made.

This sounds like it is turning into the Arena though.

I would suggest to keep it simple at first.

Have version 1.0 setup where you have pre-defined NPCs with pre-defined equipment. Then allow the player to challenge the NPC to a no-rules fight. I think this is closer to what the original request. Maybe even have the NPCs setup to visually represent their combat levels. Level 1-5 wearing fur or junky clothing with poor weapons, Level 6-10 with better armor and weapons, Level 20+ sporting Daedric and Glass, etc. This would make version 1.0 very easy and quick to crank out. You only really need to figure out how you are going to handle the "knockdown" scenarios. You could even eliminate menu options by just making each fight worth a set amount. The only menu option being "want to fight or not"

Then, in version 2.0+, have the ability to ask for a no-rules-fight like before or a controlled competition match and give options of weapon types, magic, armor, various amounts for bets, etc. This is where it would start to get sticky and complex.
