Dwarven Centurions refuse to attack

Hello. I seem to have this bug where Dwarven Centurions refuse to attack me. They walk up to me, but just stop right there. No steam attacks, no melee attacks, nothing. Alas, Its a shame, since I like having battles with challenging enemies. It just takes out the fun when they don't fight back. Does anyone else have this issue? I've searched everywhere and only found 1 person who seems to have the issue, and that's it. I fear there won't be a fix to this, but if I am wrong and there is a fix, I'd more than appreciate in hearing it  On a relevant side note, when I spawn centurions with the console, they attack me no problem. It just seems to be the ones that were already placed in the game in the first place that don't attack. I've tried reloading saves all the way back for my profile, but to no avail

I've had it once in Blackreach, that was about it. It started following me and it did nothing, restarted my pc and everything was fine.

Since I have restarted my PC since, I'll try again with another Dwemer ruin. Hopefully I'll be attacked then. I'll add an edit on this post if it does work again.

I know this is an old thread, but I have another solution, and seeing how I found this thread through a search, maybe someone else will need this info in the future:

If a Dwemer centurion, or a giant refuses to attack you, open up the console with the " ~ " key and click on the enemy so that you see their reference. Then use the "disable" command and before deselecting the enemy, use the "enable" command to bring them back. This has fixed it for me every time this happens.

i found that the real reason, Dwarven Centurion does not attack me is due to one of his animations: when he is out of combat, he performs a spinning animation ( spins through his waist ) , and after that if you attack him or he enters combat, he just stands in front of you helplessly and does not attack in melee or using his steam attack.

the only two ways i found to work around this is to:

1. as said above, click on centurion while in console (~ key will open up console) , click on the dwarven centurion, and then write: Disable , and then again write: Enable , this will reset him and he can fight back again

2. make sure that he does not stay out of combat long enough while out of his stasis frame, to perform that spinning move, if he came out of the stasis frame , just start the fight instantly and he shall be fine.

i was hoping there was some sort of fix to this issue or a way to just disable this particular animation for dwarven centurion, but so far found none in nexus, which is kinda disappointing, since it is kinda unimmersive to just open up console and reset him everytime you encounter one.
