Save .esp in creation kit - Converting Skyrim mods to SSE

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I need a little help. I have finally found the courage to start using the creation kit. Most mod authors will tell you that in order to convert a mod from Skyrim to Skyrim SE, you need to resave it in the creation kit. Can someone explain to me how this works exactly?

I have done so far:

- Loaded the esp with File > Data

- Checked the box

- Loaded the esp in CK

- Saving it...

How do I save it?

I was trying to do a Quality World Map and the esp for that is called IcePenguinWorldMap. The CK tells me I cannot save it as the same name. Do I save it under another name, remove the old IcePenguinWorldMap and rename my newly saved esp?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After you check the box you have to mark it as active. There is a button that says something like make plugin active or something like that. This will allow you to save the plugin.

On a different note A Quality World Map has already been converted to SE.
