WidgitLabs
So I've created a mod. The mod works as expected, with one little issue... I can't get objective markers to show up! I'm not trying to make a scavenger hunt here! I've read every reference and watched every video I can find, and I've tested everything I can think of, but nothing seems to work. Am I missing something obvious? I'm trying to mark a building, not a specific item in the building if that makes a difference. Deleted3897072User
You can only attach a quest marker to a ReferenceAlias and that can only be filled by an ObjectReference. A building is not an ObjectReference. Make your target something in or near the building.
WidgitLabs
Sorry, I wasn't as clear as I could have been. "Building" is misleading. It is attached to a ReferenceAlias already, and the RefrenceAlias is filled by the "building" I'm using. The building isn't a literal building, it's the rubble of a building which exists as a static object. In my understanding, that should be fine for the ObjectReference, or am I wrong? WidgitLabs
For the sake of testing, I changed the reference to a book. Still not working.
WidgitLabs
No ideas?
Evangela
When I have this problem in Skyrim, it's always because I didn't make the quest active in the journal. You know, when you go to select a quest and it has an arrow pointing at it in the quest log. When you don't do that, it tells the journal you don't want to track it, so it wont display any quest markers, etc. Probably what you forgot to do for your quest in Fallout 4. WidgitLabs
Good guess, but I'd already checked that repeatedly. And it's a Skyrim quest, not a Fallout 4 quest. ;)
Evangela
:ermm: yeah... that's what happens when I check all three forums(Oldrim, Fallout 4, and Skyrim SE), I start seeing them all as one(also Scavenger hunt immediately made me think of Fallout 4). Well I can't think of any other reason why it wont show up, except maybe trying to do it on a save that's already seen it, so you'd have to use a fresh save(and not save). WidgitLabs
Hmmm I haven't tried a completely new game yet. I'll try that here shortly.
WidgitLabs
@Rasikko Holy crap! You were right! Started a new game and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the pointer!
