Doesnt Skyrim get Lonely sometimes especially when your followers cant speak to you....So what if there was another dragonborn!!!

well wouldnt it be great if some master modders got together and created a mod that allows you to co host a game with 2-3 or more friends.

now i realise that this would be very hard to generate due to the amount of mods that co-exist between games but Im sure this is very possible.

Now im not talking about turning this game into a MMO its too small for that. but what if you could start again with a few extra friends in that lonely carriage when you get ambushed by a bunch of imperials. or when your hopelessly outnumbered in a dungeon with nothing but your iron dagger i think a few extra hands would help.

now i have some ideas on how to keep it from being over worked (just my Ideas more room for improvement)

the gear you find is the gear you get: so just like in skyrim looting a body will still only fufill one persons needs.

Separate Xp each char lvls at his/her own rate but dungeon and armour etc lvls with the highest char.

one person can use a vendor at a time if all gold is spent on vendor then its gone till vendor restocks(sorry buts that life)

Shared home

tab screens no longer pause game this will increase difficulty to all you pause potioners

quick keys can enable selected potions

Life bar above other characters head or not

using vendors or ehancers (such as grindstone bench etc) doesnt pause outside world

Quest able to taken by one character for both, can be completed by one character, both characters get half money and same item

a key to activate another char for trade screen? or perhaps a friendly duel.

if one char downs he goes down like an essential char untill danger has passed or after 10 seconds regains 25% hp

if both chars go down respawns back at enterance or last loaded area provided it was safe.

also to make this game simpler each char must be in the same loaded area( because whats the point of being apart if you should be playing together)

horses are purchased seperately but can be used by both chars.

followers are limted still to one(overwrite tweak options mod just cause we dont want 50 people running to go slay that poor beggar outside or ivarstead for the dark brotherhood)

No easy difficulty there is two or more of yous now So harden up it should take more than just one person to slay a dragon even if he/she is the dragonborn.

well thanks for reading my ideas would like to here your comments on what you think about this mod being created. Im not even sure if its legal

Peace out fellow dragonborns hope to be seeing yous soon.

A wonderful idea, literally technologically impossible. And I know, I worked on one for Oblivion.

Multiplayer conversions were JUST possible in the late 1990s. JUST. Nowadays, it's just impossible(unless you're a full size dev studio) The amount of time, money and personel required to make this sort of thing happen pretty much rule it out as a possibility. You'd basically have to re-engineer the whole engine, somehow synch two clients, somehow get it to accept thousands of lines of new code, and somehow get a server to run it and people to play in it. Synching is the biggest issue-both games have to be the exact same patch version, both must be unmodded(ANY form of mod other than the MP mod makes a synch 101% impossible) and then just synching two characters. I think this is what really sinks the idea-in Oblivion, there was a short-lived Multiplayer mod which I did use. And character synching was the killer, not only did it enforce a Vanilla game on everyone, but it was unplayably unreliable, since whenever someone did something major, it would crash the game. Every extra person playing increases the complexity of the code exponentially, two-player would be at the far end of possible for a dev studio and five years work, four? never going to happen.

And then there's the simple fact that it's not designed to be a multiplayer game, and there are co-op RPGs available now which are.

You honestly would not believe how complex a mod with would be. You would essentialy have to re-write atleast half the game's code, program the online system, set up(and rent) servers, program a matchmaking system(a VAST undertaking). Assuming you have 50 people working on this(the minimum staff for a project like this), you'd need atleast 5 years to do the sort of work this project would require, less people, slower work, and it's specialist stuff too. Better just to save the half million or so it would cost to make something like this and buy Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for $20 pre-owned.

Anything which adds to a game is a good idea, even if the coop system was like Fable's where the 2nd player could drop in and out and just help with quests etc before disappearing imo your world and not effect anything. An Arena mod could have been put in (seeing as the Arena was taken out) like the mode in Two Worlds (which was terrible) where a group of players could battle in a small space just to add a little bit extra.

I like the Skyrim Online idea but i like small MMO and coop ideas because i think they would fit in better with the game! :o

@GoodfellowGoodspring

Yeah the idea of a small coop is what i was aiming for. just to be able to drop in or out with out affecting the game in a way where it has to literally read the whole game together.

the arena would be a great idea which surprised me when it was taken out of skyrim.

@VindeKarr

So its not technically impossible. i do understand how unbelievably complex this would be but so what, there are more than few dedicated gamers? There is like over a 1000 brilliant modders on this site. we have the technology to share data. if people wanted, they could create this in under half that time probably even less. now dont get me wrong when i say all of this, 1000 people aren't just going volunteer this is just an idea to get people to think about this, perhaps even start some kind of motion where people want this badly enough they are willing to try. if 1000 people did volunteer to create this then my work here is done.

thanks for your comments
