hielkeskyrim
Back again, with more questions haha. So I have installed and enabled my first two mods. The unofficial patch and SMIM. It seems that they are not working in game yet. What am I missing? Screenshot of my MO:https://ibb.co/i1e6hd
hielkeskyrim
My Mod Organizer 2 is not working at all. Once I restart my pc all of MO2's settings get reset to default and I get the plugin.txt warning messages again. Also, all installed mods and plugins are gone. How do I fix this? Edit:After reenabling paths etc I wanted to delete and reinstall SMIM. I deleted SMIM and now every time I try to download SMIM from the nexus I get a corrupted install 0 bytes file instead of the mod. What is happening?? hielkeskyrim
I am such a noob, my apologies! 1. Mods not working fixed by launching the game through MO *facepalm*2. 0 byte downloads fixed by switching download servers (I upgraded to premium)
tomomi1922
Hey guys, I just want to bring to your attention that ... as a new MO2 user, you have to be aware of how MO2 does things, and it’s very differently than how you are used to. I just switched to MO2 last weekend and still setting up my mods right now. All the readings and tutorials watching may not 100% register until we do it and make mistakes. But I would like to spell it out, for the sake of clarity: - Your Data folder will be quite empty. Only with vanilla and dlc files like Skyrim.esm. This is normal and expected. Try not to put anything there. Leave it alone. - Every mod installation is written to its own folder, managed seamlessly by MO2. - MO2 creates a VIRTUAL Data folder for the game. Depending on how we tell it to arrange the mods, MO2 will TRICK Skyrim (or whatever game you are playing) to see a populated Data folder that doesn’t physically exist. Emphasize on this VIRTUAL word. - Therefore, running Skyrim will get you an unmodded Skyrim. You HAVE to run from MO2 to have all your mods running. It’s not for your convenience like NMM, you HAVE to run from MO2. Because of this ingenious design, we can decide what overwrites what, or “disable” a mod with a click of button. With minimal disk copy, overwrites, etc... The only hard work (for your hard drive) is when we download and install a mod (or reinstall). Great amount of automation, but even more power customization for users than NMM. You can see the mod installation folder with a click, and can do manual edit if you see fit. This does pose some complexity with mods like FNIS and CBBE in which they require to write custom content. Especially FNIS. But to keep things short, there are tutorials on how to work. It’s very easy once you get it.
