Shouts to weak?

  1. 1. Do you think the shouts should be more powerful or have a shorter recharge period?

i've gotten a few character's over level 100 (stat uncapper), and i've been using this shout mod (clicky). have had a terrible amount of fun, and when you get a character to lvl 100 or over you've earned some unstoppable character fun (imho).

as for having a character that starts out rather special... truthfully, i have to say i liked how morrowind played. you start out as the average joe, a simple under armed & armored bandit will rip you apart rather quickly when you just step off the boat. and for like the first few hours of play you can bairly handle the lesser wildlife without chugging down potions every few seconds. unless you've found a paralyzing dagger or something. you actually had to work at making a powerful character. now the level scaling in oblivion (i hated it). well I just think bandits shouldn't have tons of glass and daedric gear, that just isn't right. skyrim is much better in that respect... but i still prefer morrowind’s setup over skyrims.

But with the faster pace I suppose I can see the utility of it.

*sigh* consoles killed rpgs, murdered them in their sleep. So sad…

Yeah that mod looks pretty cool, would love to see something like that for Skyrim. I never played Oblivion, when it came out I was still playing Morrowind and a buddy of mine picked up Oblivion, I watched him play for a little while and decided to skip it. When Skryim came along I figured I'd give TES another chance. Overall I think the game is great, just miss some of the things they took out since Morrowind.

Given a little more time I'm sure there will be plenty of options for combat mods. There are all ready quite a few, just not really what I'm looking for. There's a couple I've thought about trying, but just for the sake of game stability I am waiting. I really don't want to have all the crashes that so many others are experiencing, so I'm picky with mods.

Yeah I don't like to overload on the mods either, i'm pretty selective of them as well lol. Most of them are enb and graphic/texture enhancers. I just wish that some of the mods wouldn't even have to be made because of Bethesda putting them in the vanilla game already. Unfortunately though there are some no brainers it seems that they either missed or didn't have enough time to add in such as a dragon transformation mod and story line (thank god there's gigantic mod being developed for that called the dragonborn legacy) and a combat mod as well. Speaking of which, it seems like it would make sense for them to have just added a separate Dovahkiin skill tree -.-.

It should be a minute before you can use the same shout twice, but with no restriction when it comes to chaining different shouts together.

If you're under the assumption that you can use one shout and then a second different shout right after the first one before waiting for the cool down of the first shout to finish, unfortunately you're mistaken. The cool down isn't for that particular shout but for shouts in general. That would be a really good mod though to make each cool down only specific to that particular shout so that you can use multiple shouts consecutively!

@scottym23

I think that's what he was saying. That's the way it should be. Which does actually make sense, and would only be slightly overpowered I guess.

I still like the idea of "training" each shout to have no cool down (individually) that's a good idea. It baffles me as well, why there is not "shouting" perk tree. Seems like this would be a no-brainer. You could have perks to increase the strength of you shouts, perks that let you increase your skill in shouting more quickly (if you also have the "shout training" incorporated), etc.

Or if there was something like a shout creator, where you could take the individual words from each shout you've learned and recombine them into a whole new shout with different effects or effects of both shouts. It would take some thought to do this in a responsible way, but it would be awesome. (edit: Just posted this idea on the mod request forum. Hope it's possible to do and that someone will make it....)

I do agree with this solution (well not entirely, 0 global CD is too powerful for me).

5/8 sec of global cd + normal skill CD is cool. You could litterally fight mainly with your shouts but could add a few hit/spells between two of them
