Hellscreamy
I have been messing around with the creation kit for a while now and I finally understand the basics of character creation and interiors. I want to create a large mod which includes a new worldspace, so I won't be using any space in the original game. However, this means I have to start from scratch. I have created the basic layout of the islands I want and created several routes between them, build 2 villages and created some cliffs and beaches. However, I want to add some forests to the game now, but to me it seems a pain to add individual trees everywhere and place plants between them. Is there a simple way of placing these objects, or should I individually place and randomize them? In case you are wondering what the mod will be like; it will be inspired by Pyke and the iron islands from Game of Thrones. It will contain several large islands connected by bridges and large cliffs surrounding the coasts, I am also planning a large city build inside a mountain. The population would be based upon vikings and pirates and I'll try to add some own lore into the game.
BeastlyBeast
I think randomization is the way to go. :/ I'm doing the same thing as you (making a mod with a separate world cell). It's hard. I'm not even done with the first tenth of the first percent, and I've spent three days on it already. LOL
tetradite
Yeah you are pretty much down to placing them yourself. The only help is the landscape textures, so you won't have to be placing everything around the base of the trees manually. You can get quite a nice looking set of "plants" just by texturing the landscape with a mixture of, say lpineforest02 and lfieldgrass02. All depends how thick you want the "forest" to be I guess. Yeah, I found the textures with the plants around them, that makes it a lot easier. It does give me bugs sometimes, where the texture suddenly turns black for no reason. That's probably not a bug, please see my post HERE (ignore the first two posts) Edited May 7, 2012 by tetradite
