shadowace
Or my way, hit her, run all the way to the Waterfront district. While making sure she keeps following you, and just watching 30 guards take her out. Laughing while she kills about 20 of them!
Carah
When my character was on level one, what I did was, after getting out of Vindessel (with hell on my heels chasing me). I jumped on Prior Maboral's horse, and run to the Imperial City. There the Imperial guards took care of her, but it was a good 10 minute's, and a dozen dead guards later. One great thing I had the sword, but at that level I couldn't carry the ebony armour.
bben46
Umbra is actually easy at any level. You need to find a place where she can't reach you with the sword. There is a broken ledge off of the walkway above where you first see her that works. Just be careful not to fall off. Keep shooting her with arrows, spells and a good staff helps - It might take a long time. Stock up on arrows, welkynd stones to recharge your staff, potions to enhance your magica and as many long range scroll spells you can get. At first level you are probably not going to be able to use all of her armor because it will be too heavy.

Lainge
Oh good, but damn some people need to be more creative when fighting. Just attacking and throwing fireballs gets really boring.
Leenysaurus
I have a vastly easier way of killing her. You need a spell called Console. You click "~" to get it. It's wild. ... Ignore me, I'm just being a jerk. I'm very bored.
