Varus Torvyn
Even just starting out with a new character, I found it easy to beat Umbra. I did the Mages Guild first. After I got my Mage's Staff (Paralyze), I paralyzed Umbra then bashed her head in with a sword. She was tough, though. Tried to get up after the first round. Paralyzed her again, then finished the job. Only did that once, however. Got the Guide Book, saw I had to be a certain level, and followed the questline after that. I know there's a glitch where you can do Umbra at level 1, but I didn't see the point. It's actually more important to be in-character by doing the quests the way you're supposed to. LHammonds
When I first got the game, I stumbled into her den at level 1. I was using a bow + sneak to kill all the bandits I ran up against. I saw her from the top ledge through a hole and fired a shot thinking I would kill the bandit. Nope. She ran up the stairs and all my attempts to do any kind of damage was for not. When I decided to run away, I found out that she was much faster and eventually killed me in the forest. I did my research and later caught up with her but I was prepared for the 2nd battle. I used disentigrate armor scrolls to get past her armor to defeat her. LHammonds
Blacksnake89
My tactic was this: There is a broken pillar in the room with umbra. take the basket on the table flip it upside down and use it to jump on the pillar. Take a good staff or a bow with lots of arrows and rain hell down from the pillar. Spells work 2 but you need stones or potions to recharge your mana. Edit:My other tactic is simmilar to Leeny's It's called placing an unenchanted umbra (or self enchanted) using CS lol
IndorilTheGreat
I have a vastly easier way of killing her. You need a spell called Console. You click "~" to get it. It's wild. ... Ignore me, I'm just being a jerk. I'm very bored. Yeah... I don't like to do it that way... I just put god mode on... BTW, I love your sig! Where did you get it? madgamer
Or my way, hit her, run all the way to the Waterfront district. While making sure she keeps following you, and just watching 30 guards take her out. Laughing while she kills about 20 of them! I have to admit that of all the ways stated in the last "How did you Kill Umbra" thread I liked yours the best. I join the Mage guild about level 8, get a fire ball mage staff. I just hit her about 6 times or so and she dies. You might consider getting a quest item level MOD so that the quest reward items like the Umbra sword keep getting better as you level up. billypnats
go into console and kill lol. thats my solution to everything I can't kill. EDIT: Oh, thats already been said. lead her to dive rock and kick her off the cliff, I did that once, and never stopped quickloading to the point before i powerattack her off teh cliff
Sarpedon
My brother in law prefers to buy the "Truncheon of Submission" from the smith in Anvil. It drains fatigue. You hit her with that until she falls down, then switch to a different weapon. Gets her every time.
