hithl4in
Hi, According to this website:http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Guardian_Stones The warrior stone has archery inside, whereas the thief stone has 1H sword, light armor, and sneaking. I'm some kind of huntress, so should I take the warrior stone, to improve archery, and so I'll improve armor, sword and sneak slower, or the thief one but in this situation I'll not build archery as fast? thompsonar
Well when I look at the page it says the warrior stone improves Smithing Heavy Armor Block One-Handed Two-Handed Archery and the theif stone improves Alchemy Light Armor Lockpicking Pickpocket Sneak Speech So you should pick the warrior stone. But it really doesn't matter as all the skills level up quickly at the beginning anyway (as long as you use them a lot). You will also find more useful stones as you explore. But if you're a hunter I say go warrior stone initially. edit: I think the best stones are the lover, the atronach, the lord, and the steed Edited May 10, 2012 by thompsonar
RedRavyn
You need to read things better, hithl4in. What thompsonar said is correct regarding the buffs the Warrior Stone and Thief Stone give.' I almost always choose the Thief Stone at the beginning of the game, because I usually play some variant of a "stealth battlemage" with Archery as my primary non-magical combat skill. However, I will go find the Lover's Stone at the earliest opportunity, tag it, and never look back. I rather like getting the +30 bonus on everything, since I do mix up my skill use a lot, and I hate having to travel back to the three stones every time I want to do some Alchemy or Smithing, or I'm going out on an adventure where I'll be using mostly destruction magic (best against Draugr), or sniping with my bow (just about everything else). I know some people are into maximizing leveling progress, but in my opinion you level up far too rapidly in this game, anyway. I think in my next playthrough I'll stay away from the Standing Stones entirely and see if this makes the game any more challenging. I'll bet it does. thompsonar
Since I've started using an alternate start mod I never go to the guardian stones anymore. I never really remember where any of the others are either so I usually just pick up the first one I come across and replace it later when I find a better one. I didn't really notice a difference to tell you the truth without using the stones. But I also wasn't paying close attention to my leveling speed either. flobalob
I tend to use the Lady stone for the Health/Magicka regen boost and leave it at that.
