cwiilli15
Hi guys, I'm not brand spanking new to mods, but it's been a long while since I've modded and played Skyrim. After randomly coming across and watching a Sinitar Gaming video about some of the latest mods, I got an itch to get back into the game. Now, my problem might simply be that I have too many mods active all at the same time, but I'll bet buckets full of SSD cards that someone here could tweak my set up to get things working harmoniously. I have attached my current Nexus Mod Manager load order. Got a bunch of huge quest mods installed, a bunch of follower mods, a lot of combat-related mods... so yeah. Also, I do use LOOT to optimize the load order. I use BethINI and only use it per the instructions on the Nexus mod page for it. I also launch FNIS via Nexus Mod Manager every time I change anything with my mods. I'm using the latest version of Skyrim with all the DLC's. I launch my game via SKSE through Steam every time. To be more specific on the problem itself, I just started a brand new game. I went through character customization without any trouble. Got Alternate Start installed so I start in that room with the Dibella statue. Once I get to that room and mods start loading themselves and stuff (top left corner shows them all activating and what not), the game CTD within 30 seconds. Any advice on what I should change? Maybe the load order is what needs tweaking. Maybe a few mods conflict with each other. I don't know, but I'm at my wit's end. By the Nine, please help, my fellow Skyrim lovers! All help is very much appreciated! Edited June 7, 2018 by cwiilli15
tomomi1922
You can copy and paste that load order into a spoiler tag, so we do not have to download the txt file and find it to open. Let me first ask you a few things for clarification: - this is Skyrim original and not Skyrim SE right? I know you are posting in Oldrim section, but many returners (like myself) were not aware of the difference. - You did not mention whether you started the game from scratch and all mods were downloaded and installed anew. Is this the case? Because, say you were gone for 1 year, Skyrim would have been updated, old mods may no longer work. You have to manually look into every mod to see if there are updates and make sure you follow all update instructions. A lot of things have changed.- If you are starting over, I 1000% recommend you to use Mod Organizer 2 over NMM. To spell it out, the difference is like day and night.
