problem solved : i unchecked all mods in de load order, installed the creation club addons (now they downloade), then added the extra mods again and started a new game just to make sure

and hurray it all works.. It feels like xmas walking in the snow landscape...

Maybe it was the sim settlements mod that took too much space, so i did not install those anymore

PS cannot seem to find the easy building mod though ? would like to be able to just place an entire manor or house, preferably with interiors installed that i can adjust to my taste. Anyone know of such mod for xbox ?

My count at present is esl 253 and esl 328. But I have a Aiienware laptop that is only couple years old with 32gb ram. But I have been hitting corrupted saves day or two. But I have been able to keep adding and play.

Here's something that has helped. Ill repost it here.

Infinite load screen could indicate a corrupted file.

If you are having issues with corrupted saves and/or CTD because corrupted saves.

You can check for a corrupted file and possibly fixing it by use ReSave. ReSave is on the Nexus, a must have app.

Another indication if the file size if it is smaller than your other hard saves. Not auto saves or quick saves they are always bigger than hard saves

Check the flies with ReSave and delete all corrupted files. Note: make sure you close and open ReSave before each file checked. It appears that if a file is loaded everything else it checks says they are corrupted even when not.

Delete or move to another folder all saves except the last few uncorrupted saves.

(If needed) Clean save with ReSave, Save as; Cleaned### (### is the save number)

1. Open the last good save or the one just cleaned.

2. Once in Game load the same save again.

3. Once again back in game, Save.

4. Go to 3rd Person.

5. Open Console; Select your character and type kill.

6. Once back in game save and continue playing.

Why this works I have no idea. I found all of this online and I combined several of them into this little procedure. I have been using this procedure for several weeks and it has been working great for me. I have been testing mods a lot the last several months and have corrupted the game saves at times, to a point, that I would have to start a new game every two or three weeks. On top of testing mods to see if I liked them or not I wanted to see how many I could install before the game hard crashed. Right now I’m hovering around 600, and my save just short of 60mb and at level 22. The procedures described above have kept me from having to start the game over; so far, it’s been about five weeks, so far.

Other Discoveries/Tips:

When leaving the new Virtual Workshop my camera view got stuck above my char, couldn’t move. To fix I found by typing tfc in console, which I could still use, then aim my weapon, I would be back to normal. I could not duplicate the bug at all after that time. It seamed that leaving the pod put me in some kind of Partial Free Cam and when I typed in tfc it place my view looking up from the floor at my character and I could still move the character but once I aimed my gun I went back to normal first person. Just weird or Bethesda being Bethesda.

Low fps, first try restarting or shutdown the computer and then restart the game. If you are using F4SE start steam first (if you are using it) before you start the game.

so frustrating on xbox only 2gb

however it does seem valid cos when i added alot of mods upto 1,7gb the game did not play smoothly : subtitles of conversations were like 30sec slow and sometimes the game just stopped / froze altogether….

funny that i needed SSM or another mod to delete mods in the memory (just disabling them still used up memory)

now i have finally installed Sim settlements (3 in 1) BUT i do not get the Sim token in the workbench ? Anyone know if you need to be local leader 2 or have required lvl or do i need to find city plans first ?

another strange thing : i started a new game with the settlements mod but keep getting a message it cannot save my progress and to delete savegames as memory is full ? I had about 14 old savegames before this mod, BUT now i only see 2 or 3 that have been used for this new game ? Where are my old save games ? or is there a way to clean up/delete all old savegames (freeing up memory) ?

At least on PC, the save games are sorted by character. When you go to load, there is an option for Select Character, might want to check that.

Rob- I had that exact same issue on the PS4. It's actually not a memory or space problem, it's a generic (a poor one at that) error message. It happens when the save data is corrupt or the game can't save it right.

The only option I've found for fixing it, is when it happens, to just set down the controller, walk over to the deck and eject the game disk. That'll force the game to stop running. Then reboot your deck with the disk in. Now, after that, your most recent save is corrupt. You can't load from it, because it was only partially saved. You'll have to load from a save before the error popped up.

Back when I was gaming on the PS4, you could clean out or view save games through the memory management menus from sony. Tho, I've no idea how to get to that on an Xbox :(

Now... take this with a grain of salt because again, my experience was PS4. That thing was just a hot mess. It did this, a LOT. While it's actually a known issue for the decks (this actually started happening before they could mod the decks), there are some mods that (for lack of a better term) make it happen more often, or more likely to happen.

I know that it's really difficult to get a load order from a game deck. But if you wanna put up some pics of your LO I'll look through it, and see if I see any that I recognize right off the bat as a problem child. Best bet is to upload them to a 3rd party image host. Since the nexus has a limit on file size to post to your reply. It also has a total file size allotment, so that figures in as well.

Also, I'm very sorry, but I have absolutely NO idea as far as sim settlements. So I'm afraid that I can't help you out with that :(

  • 2 months later...

I am still right, because people's testing don't always consider all factors. See I had 152 or 153 ESL files I got the Saint Patrick bundle on CC it added 4 or 5 ESL files. Then I had 157 ESL files I go to start the game on the Creation Club announcements it CTD. Then I disabled 7 mods that are ESL files and the game doesn't crash on Creation Club announcement. So I am reaching a wierd ESL limit where it causes it to CTD on the CC anouncement, see I should be able to have alot more ESL files. I am thinking it is the Creation Club conflicting with modder ESL files, then ESL files are more compressed than a ESP files. See because it oddly CTD when CC loads up, so for me there is a limit of ESL files and at 157 ESl files it CTD on the CC advertisiments. Maybe I can run Fallout 4edit to see if the ESL files are conflicting. It is a limit for me I also was having the same CTDs until I used ESP versions of the mods instead of ESL versions.

The game counts up esl files differently than it does esm and/or esp files.

For esm or esp files it counts it up by literally counting the number of files marked with that flag or file type.

With esl files, it counts up the number of containers in the total number OF those files, not the number of files themselves. So it doesn't matter how many esl files you have. It matters how much information is in ALL of them, totaled up.

If you were still in game version .138 and you had three .esl files in your game. 1) had 1,250 containers in it. 2) Has 700 containers in it. 3) Has 100 containers in it. (Ok those aren't realistic figures, but I'm trying to keep the example simple.) File 3) puts the game over the 2k container limit for vers .138 so the game is gonna crash. Or give the error message about needing to uninstall plugins.

Now, if 3) only had 25 containers in it, the game would (theoretically) still run and not crash during startup. Or give the error messages about needing to uninstall mods.

Now, according to what I've read: Game version 138 had a limit of 2000. Supposedly, ver 162 doubled or more than doubled that, and put the limit at between 4-5 thousand.
