Polixenes
I noticed that the various guilds require you to have certain minimum values in a stat. Do these minima actually affect game play? E.g. On reading FAQs about setting up a character I haven't noticed anything along the lines of "If you want to be in the Fighter's Guild you need to get high Strength or you can't get guild advancement." Another E.g. Blades need you to have Personality at a certain level. If your Personality is too low does that have any effect on Caius giving you quests? (Same question applies to other guilds/factions). Thanks.
ShinJiOh
umm.. I belive it to be something like, if you play in the fighters guild you may join them, but you may not advance if your skills aren't high enough, then they will refuse to give any more orders to someone of such a low rank The Blades however, do not seem to follow this as Caius still raised my rank without my asking, and my intelligence wasn't high enough(go figure), so he just lets you wak right through. but for the question of if they affect gameplay or not, they do, like endurance does something wity health and fatigue, intelligence raises magika levels and so on, but they all do something, it's in the instruction manual i think. Also i dont think it is that you need high strngth but just their minimum requirements, which is pretty low anyway
Camonna
yeah, the fighters guild and mages guild are easy with the requirements but the legion is ALOT tougher
Dagger of Symachus
If you're talking about stats like strength, endurance, etc., then they don't have to be all that high. The Blades don't care if you don't fit the requirements, since their part of the main quest (you shouldn't have to have a high personality/intelligence to finish the main quest, there can be idiot, non-sociable nerevine too). For normal factions (eg:Fighters Guild) the highest they have to be is 35 in each skill, and about like the first five ranks you don't even need to care about those skills. Now if you are talking about skills like sneak, axe, destruction, etc., those must be fairly high to increase in a guild. Each guild has nine ranks I believe, and in order to fit those every advancement you must have one skill +10 more then the last advancement and two other ones +5 greater then they were at the last advancement. It works similarly for stats, only at the last five each of the two main stats increase by one at each advancement.
Guest
I think what polixenes actually meant was if you get other quests when you don't have the min reqs for advancement, but I think you don't.... you'll just have to up your stats and then get the quests
Malchik
I did have Caius Cosades once refuse to give me orders because I was too inexperienced. I wanted to do the main quest without doing any others. I had to go and train some before he would give me orders. So something applies to the Blades too. Dagger of Symachus
All that the Blades care about is level though. I forgot that. I think the only level requirements though are level three for that Vivec Informants quest, and level six for the Illunibi quest.
Polixenes
Thanks for the help. I've played a bit now, concentrating on Redoran, Blades and Cult/Legion quests ands so far haven't reached the point where my stats are too low to advance in a guild. My character's Personality score was 40 at the game start and I have leveled it up to 45 (I'm L12 now) just because I want to be able to keep in good with the Cult, though I hope I don't have to raise it too much more as I don't have any Personality-based skills as major or minor so it's harder going. Mainly doing 3x-2x-2x and 2x-2x-2x level ups, I hope I'm not going to have problems later.

Dr. Corbett
You can still do the *jobs...* but you can't get the promotions that might be necessary to unlock the jobs. Fore example, I find that my skills aren't quite as "1337" as I would have them be...
