Visual Effect problem with Mage's Shimmering Shield and Rock Armor spell.

I'm having a problem and it appears to be limited to just these two spells. With Rock Armor the visual effect disappears after a second or two, the tiny bits of rock falling off the character remain but the whole body rock effect fades away. With Shimmering Shield both the visual and sound effect for it have gone, it still works mechanically but that's it. It could be a mod problem but I removed every file from my Override folder AND disabled any non-Bioware files in the Downloadable Content menu and it occurs even after I made a new character. I may be the only person who does, but I like a lot of these visual effects and it's bothering me that these two aren't working correctly.
