Mktavish
And how is that easier than simply selecting the linked ref from the ref window ? In my oppinion the OP went next level with easy button gripe. Cry me a river shism. Oh I see .. your trying to tell me that is where you are ? Hmmm I seem to remember you griping at this engine profusely. But it is what it is ... with no official effert to impruve it. So that be that and you exist in the use the tools they gave us to mod with. Without it being this popular ... we wouldn't be here discussing this. So they must have done something right ? EPDGaffney
OP could have fifty to a hundred refs to chain together. This is the sort of thing the human race invented computers for. And OP didn't even gripe. But I will tell you now, I would hate to chain that many refs together manually, and I'd ask a similar question. Yes, this engine is horrendous. It was outdated when the game came out and its limitations are infuriating and illogical. That said, yes, they did something right and that's why we're here. But there is no harm in trying to improve something you love. We love modding this game, so we do that. Dubious compiles information, Jazz updates JIP LN, Roy makes his improvements all over the place, and some of us ask questions about how to do things more efficiently. And I make sarcastic remarks cos they make me laugh. Nothing wrong with any of it, in my opinion. Edit: Oh, and scripting it would be done in a couple of minutes and be mentally stimulating, whereas doing it by hand could take a really long time, give your hand a cramp, and be extremely boring, not to mention a greater risk of human error. Mktavish
Well I guess I was reading way to much into the OP's request , then being a jerk about it. And I can't argue with the idea of solving problems to be mentally stimulating no matter what they'd be for.
