Should I get it for pc or console? help

It was probably mentioned above somewhere, but incase it wasn't here's my 2 cents.

I bought Morrowind for Playstation back in the day. This was a huge mistake. The game was great, except that there was a very minor bug on an NPC that was tied into the main quest line and at least one mage guild questline. Somehow the NPC was not grounded to the floor... and each time the cell was loaded she levitated up further. Eventually she floated through the ceiling and into the nothingness beyond the cell and became inaccessible. Those questlines at this point became completely broken.

On a PC, if that happens you just pull up the console commands, either toggle collisions and walk through the wall to reach her, you could summon her right to you, or use a command to move right to her. On Xbox or PS, you don't have that option, all you can do is hope that one of your earlier saves was before the bug became unplayable, sometimes having to go back 10-20 hours of gameplay and losing a ton of progress.

My point is that Bethesda games are always a bit buggy, but that is because they are open sandbox games, and there are just so many variables to every playthrough its next to impossible to predict what every player will do. Choosing PC lets you work-around these issues rather than just having to roll back to a prior save and pray that the problem wont recur again.

Morrowind wasn't for the PS -_-

My mistake, It must have been on the xbox console, I had both consoles, and it was years ago. But that doesn't nullify my point. Whether it happened on an XBOX or a PS the point I was making is still relevant, you can't fix bugs you run into on the console systems, you just have to reload a save and pray that it wont happen again.

Bethesda's always been buggy. Playing on a console ties one hand behind your back, and puts you at the mercy of those bugs.

Don't worry about it, I had a PS2 and an xbox and mix the games up somettimes.

As for console bugs, yeah, you have to wait for a patch from Bethesda, and they release patches in huge size so it's a long time before you get the fix. PC can fix it through unofficial patches and console commands.

I had Fallout NV for the PS 3 and ended up taking it back to get it for the pc. After that i realized that mods make a HUGE difference on games, you don't like how something looks and feels change it :) and there is a lot of ppl out there with awesome skills who can make a whole new experience for the game (And im not talking about the XXX content) :P The graphic mods are a great example of ppl work that make this type of games more enjoyable.

I'm going to extend the console vs pc discussion by saying, a Tower (desktop) is better for gaming then a LAPTOP. If your laptop was a Tower all you could have change for it to work good would be your graphics card and you'd be set. not to mentioned its 10000000000x better and cheaper to build your own PC. And its really not that hard, as one may think!

There are some games that are perfectly viable, even "better" played on console if for nothing else but the very large multi-player base. But, I have re-learned that the PC is by far a better overall gaming machine if for no other reason that it can be far more powerful. I say re-learned because I started gaming back when you basically had a PC for serious gaming or you were a dolt.

When I got back into gaming a few years ago I started with consoles, Play-Stations primarily until Halo 2 then I bought and Xbox 360. I was happy. Then I started playing Fallout 3 and my opinion changed. I still had a lot of fun and put several hundred hours into game-play. However, I felt limited. While looking into it I found out WHY I felt limited. I was limited, on purpose.

As a lark I bought Fallout NV for PC and put it on my laptop, with obviously reduced graphics. I started playing around with mods and discovered that this really was the only way to truly get the most out of this style of gaming. So, I decided to build a PC for the specific purpose of playing Fallout 4 when it was released. I built my current desktop: Asus motherboard, Intel I5, 16 gig of ram, and an EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX460 gpu (Not extremely high end but within my budget and serving very well). Obviously that's not an in-depth list but enough to get an overall view of my system. Fallout NV became a completely different animal. Then of course, I bought Skyrim for PC.

I literally have only turned on my consoles five times in the last 4 months.

There are still games I will buy and play on consoles but the open sandbox stuff will be for PC only.

Your GPU is roughly twice as powerful as mine, and for me Skyrim is quite playable. I have everything set to the minimum except for AA and texture settings, and I get ~35 FPS outdoors.

I'm sure your laptop will be able to handle moderate settings with high frame rates, and will still look much better than the PS3, especially with all the mods out there.

And Steam isn't really that bad, but it will most likely require you to install a few updates before you can start playing.
