TheReaper952
Been modding games for a few years now, but recently I'm having issues with New Vegas. Have a few faint ideas why, but nothing concrete, thought maybe someone might offer a suggestion I hadn't yet thought of. Required Files Load Order: FalloutNV.esmDeadMoney.esmHonestHearts.esmOldWorldBlues.esmLonesomeRoad.esmTribalPack.esmMercenaryPack.esmClassicPack.esmCaravanPack.esmGunRunnersArsenal.esm Mod Load Order: NVEC Complete + NVCE.esm (via installer packaged w/ mod) oHUD.esm (via NMM) YUP Base Game + All DLC.esm (Via NMM) YUP NPC Fixes.esp Unofficial Patch Plus.ep The Mod Configuration Menu.esp Throwable Fixes.esp NVSE Plugins: MCM.dll NVSE_EnhancedCamera.dll sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.dll Other Mods installed but not shown in load order: NMC's Texture Pack for New Vegas Large Option (Parts 1-3 installed via NMM) PipBoy 3000 Remastered (Via NMM) Game was running fine until I installed WMX via NMM. I uninstalled WMX when loading either of only 2 saves crashed the game. Brand New Save, Started fresh save, got all the intro sequence crap outta the way, waited for DLC notifcations to finish popping up. Left Doc Mitchells. Saved staring outside (Again after all DLC Notifications were done) then I quit the game and started modding. Now, the game crashes no matter what if I load the save where I'm outside, or load the save from inside Doc's, then exit through the door then crashes during loading screen. The outside seems to be the problem. Barely any mods, yet issues have already begun. Such a pain. Launching from NMM via NVSE, or NewVegas.exe, or through Steam, starting launcher and clicking Play Game, makes no difference. Same issue occurs. FNVEdit finds no issues either. Another thing to mention is YUP tried to overwrite two files, one from NMC Texture Pack Part 2. And another from PipBoy 3000 Remastered. I denied the overwrite both times to leave those mods intact. I'd appreciate any help. Edited June 13, 2018 by TheReaper952
M48A5
NMC's Texture Pack for New Vegas Large Option (Parts 1-3 installed via NMM) Did you just forget to mention the 4GB Fallout New Vegas or did you fail to install this. It is a requirement for the large pack. * LARGE- Ultra High Quality, maximum resolution graphics. (Typically: 2048 x 2048 Textures & 2048 x 2048 Bumpmaps/Normal maps)You need to use the 4GB Fallout New Vegas (by MonochromeWench - Hendricks266 - Roy Batty)mod or you will most likely get slowdowns and crashing and texture glitches and CTD's.(emphasis mine)
dubiousintent
Please see the 'Towards Game Stability' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. If this is your first attempt to play FNV, then I recommend you read the whole thing to pick up some of the crucial differences from other games you may have modded before. Also, Please see the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. -Dubious-

Oh, and since this post, I reinstalled New Vegas, uninstalled a few more mods, will update post with new mod list and load order.

This is the first time I've had so many issues that I couldn't fix myself and it may be because I'm on Windows 10 or because I'm playing on a PC with a new Ryzen CPU, but if there are any specific issues I could fix without blaming my new hardware, that'd be great. Specs are more than good enough though, power wise (GTX 1080, Ryzen 1700, 16GB of RAM, New Vegas is installed on an SSD.)
dubiousintent
The following entries in the wiki 'Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting' guide specifically address known Win10 problems:* 'Issue: NVSE - fails to load after update KB4058043 to Win10 FCU (v1709)'* 'Issue: Vanilla game Hangs on startup'; specifically "Cause-1" regarding DirectX9 drivers.* 'Issue: "Full screen mode" exhibits CTDs and stutters or micro-stutters'* 'Issue: Recent (post-Win10 FCU) CTDs after 10-20 minutes of play'* 'Issue: Lag or "micro stutters" even with "New Vegas Stutter Remover" installed (or not)'. (Regardless of whether or not NVSR is actualy installed.) In particular "Cause-4" regarding video card settings. The latest video drivers may not be the best suited to an older game like FNV. All vendors drop testing of old games at some point. Backwards compatibility is never guaranteed, much less "optimization".Also, "Cause-7" regarding "Superfetch" and "File search indexing". Windows updates will often reset these back on.* 'Issue: Win10 Screen tearing in "Borderless Windowed Mode"'* 'Issue: ENB Support for Windows versions later than Win7'* 'Issue: Problems using ENB/SweetFx on Windows 10' Hopefully that will help narrow down the issues to a remaining few we can address in particular. -Dubious-

I reinstalled for a fourth time, again, going through all the usual DLC messages and saving inside Doc Mitchells. So this time, the only mods I've got are NVEC, Goodsprings Shovel Restored, Mod Configuration Menu, And a quest mod which gives a new player home. Gave up on WMX, and WRP, and all those irritating compatibility patches, had to give up on a lot, but for now it seems to have fixed the problem, but I hope I haven't spoken to soon. Will update if it still crashes or not.
