tomomi1922
OP here I fixed this issue by turning off AMBIENT OCCLUSION. Seems like AO was the source of all my problems. Turning it off has kept my game running at 60 fps everywhere, including high-poly forests. And I still have ultra shadows! GG.I wouldn't play without AO. However, what you can do is to tune up the amount in ENB. Turn off AO from Skyrim, use ENB instead. I have a similar system as yours, using 1070 though. Yes, everything at max for me, including ENB and glass density at 40 (smaller number is denser). I am playing at 1080p because 1440p is just unnecessary for me. This is what you should do: use grass mod with performance texture and NO normal map. And turn off AO for grass. The aesthetic is not a huge difference, and AO for grass in Skyrim looks kinda terrible anyway. This is actually a recommendation by a grass mod author, not sure Verdant or Veydoseborm. Grass on AO bites a chunk out of your performance for having to render AO on so many ... objects. But it is not normal to have stuttering problem. If everything works right, you should see a steady fps. If your system cannot handle the load, it should be steady 20-30fps ... not 60fps to 10fps. So once again, turn off AO for Skyrim, use ENB AO, more performance friendly AND allow adjustment.
