bben46
As a big Terry Pratchett fan, I would like to see CMOT Dibbler (Cut me own throat Dibbler) as one of the merchants - of course, he deals in mostly useless stuff as well as his famous 'mystery meat' sausage ina bun. Other possible NPCs that could be found in Ankh Morpork Sam Vimes, the captain of the watch - complete with his cigar & thin soled boots (he can step on a dime and tell if its heads or tails) And his wife the Dutchess who raises dragons as a hobby. (Sam has been known to pick up a baby dragon and use it light his cigar) Captain Carrot, a 6 foot 5 dwarf (adopted) with an interesting pedigree and a way of getting his own way without seeming to do any more than asking politely. The ubiquitous beggars (AKA The Canting Crew); Foul ol Ron (with his dog Gaspode), The Duck Man ( has a duck on his head but doesn't know it). Coffin Henry (Makes his living by not being invited to parties) And places: The Broken Drum (you can't beat it) later renamed to The Mended DrumPatricians Palace - bits and pieces of its description can be found scattered throughout the books. It was formerly the King's Winter palace and is very ornate.
Voivod333
@ResolveThatChord I will see what I can dig up in the way of Paul Kidby's illustrations. Also, I didn't know about 'Companion Vilja'. Definitely gonna have to re-install Oblivion and try that mod out. Very cool. @bben46 Fear not, I plan on incorporating as many characters into Ankh-Morpork as possible. As for the city itself, I will be using the movies made so far as a reference. However I plan on using just the vanilla architecture for the time being. @GalaxyS3 I don't plan on adding the witches until later, once I make Lancre and Sto Helit. Then of course Susan will make her appearance, as well as the Death of Rats. After that comes Uberwald. And even later will come the Hogfather. @dfac364 Yeah, creating a new world cell sounds like a better idea. Though I have started building a floating land mass from scratch but I am concerned with the amount of lag it could create. So I am just going go go ahead with the new world cell. GalaxyS3
@Voivoid I will try and find people to do the spells and such so you can focus on the architecture, I'll start contacting people this weekend or hopefully sooner if RL allows me
GalaxyS3
Hows work coming along?
Voivod333
Slowly, I have a full time job now and so little time to do anything on it. Basically, I have my 2 days off to work on it a little. For the last two months I would have had everyday to do it. Bad timing I guess. Any ways I am striving to get all I can done. For starter though, Discworld Version 0.5 will be only the UU. And as I get more done, new updates will come available. Bite size chunks. Plus I have figured out how it will all work out that way story wise. Discworld has disappeared, due to an experiment by Ponder Stibbons and his team at HEM. The player will continue to help get back Ankh-Morpork, then Discworld. That's basically how it is going to start. Oh...and the connection from Tamriel to Discworld is through the library in the College of Winterhold and the library in the UU. The first thing players will see, is a message upon activating a book case in the College will be a pop-up reading,'You hear something say "Ook?" coming from the other side of the bookcase.' Hopefully we can find a knowledgeable/experienced quest/script writer so I can pass my notes on possible quests and dialogue, etc. As well I hope ResolveThatChord can help out with the models and textures for the UU faculty clothing and beards (if possible). But I have begun constucting the UU in a new world space. So there is some progress. I am basing my designs on what I can from the movies; The Color of Magic, The Hogfather and Going Postal. GalaxyS3
Sounds great. I'll find an animator on the nexus to give the Librarian a few new movements, and@Resolvethatchord, would you be will to retexture and re-fur the librarian?
bben46
L-space :biggrin:Right out of the Diskworld lore. For those unfamiliar with Sir Terry Pratchetts L-space here is a link. http://wiki.lspace.org/wiki/L-space
Voivod333
@bben46 L-Space...exactly. @ResolveThatChord Is it possible for you to model and texture the Librarian orangutan? If not we need to find someone to do that. Skeleton and animations as well. Like I said before. We don't need too many new meshes, but a few new wizard beards (especially Ridcully), Librarian, Wizards' unique clothes and hats (including Ponder Stibbons grey hat and robes, as for his round glasses maybe just make them an addition to his hat - same model), city watch armors, and the Patrician's clothes. At some point Wuffles, the Patrician's puppy. Oh, and maybe some clothes for Drummknot.
Voivod333
Currently re-texturing clothing, cloaks and hats for various different wizards of the UU. As for the librarian, I have decided to have him pre-orangutan until later. I am also re-texturing clothes for the Patrician. Once we have a modeller/texturer we will get them to do accurate clothing for all characters and hopefully a proper orangutan, dwarves and Mac Feegles (for a later "expansion"), as well as witches clothes. GalaxyS3
Glad to hear the progress your making but I have some bad news. I contacted someone about making the spells and they said they do not want to work on any big projects. I am a bit stumped as to who to contact now about the spells, but I will find someone. Also about the witches clothes: Make a few changes to the black necromancer robes and use this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4198 maybe edit it a bit and there you go! I think...
