Making changes to "Mehrunes Razor" DLC

Recommended Posts

OK, I want to make some changes to the Drothmeri soldiers. I tried creating an add-on .esp file, but that was throwing up two on-screen messages every time the quest updated. Should I just modify the original .esp file, or the unofficial patch?

Fairly simple guide for you. You can create a patch that is dependent on both .esp's

This one by Arthmoor also contains useful information, including a method of making the vanilla construction set accept two files as master to your new plugin. There's more than one way to skin a cat, but I'd do it with the CSE because it's the least hack-y

Thanks for the advice. Looking at the unofficial patch, the only clash is caused by it changing the Drothmeri soldiers' shirts. If I copied those changes into my modded version of the DLC .esp, then deleted them from the patch using TES4Edit, wouldn't that keep it from overriding my inventory changes?

It looks like the UOP changes the drothmeri soldiers' inventory by adding a leveled list of shirts.

To fix the conflict open the UOP plugin using TES4Edit, select the drothmeri soldiers, right-click -> remove to cancel the changes and click yes on the alarming pop-up warning you you're about to make bring the module a deadly important change.
