Skyrim CTD Upon Loading Saves In-Game. Help?

Hi, I'm new to the site so I hope I'm in the correct place to ask my question.

 

I've been playing a modded Skyrim with little trouble for about a week's worth of gameplay, but recently I've had this weird problem where my game will CTD if I try to load any saves in-game. I can load my saves fine from the main menu with no trouble, but if I load the same save while in-game, it CTD. This seems to happen with any save I choose and I haven't been able to figure out what's causing it.

 

I use the Nexus Mod Manager to download and install my mods and L.O.O.T. to sort the mods for me and the game doesn't crash at all. I have had a couple random crashes in the larger open world, but that's normal for me since my laptop is only scraping the recommended requirements for Skyrim. What I can't figure out is what's causing my game to crash when loading a save in-game. It's frustrating to have to restart Skyrim each time I want to load an old save.

 

Does anyone else have this problem? Or some tricks or tips on how to fix it? I've tried looking up tutorials online but none of them seem to be about the specific problem I'm having. I do have SKSE and do use it to start the game up from the Nexus Mod Manager menu.

That's really odd, I've never heard of anything like that.

 

Can you post your load order? You can copy it from LOOT by pressing the three dots in the top right of LOOT's window.

Thanks for responding! I've actually found a temporary fix to the problem by creating the memory allocation patch for SKSE. I didn't realize you had to manually create the patch. The game actually allowed me to reload in-game twice, when before I couldn't even reload once without it crashing to the desktop. I haven't tested it for a long period of time, though, so I'm unsure whether it's a permanent fix to my problem :(

 

And this is my load order, according to L.O.O.T.. If you notice a mod that might be causing the problem, I'd love to know. L.O.O.T. hasn't given me any error messages about any of them, so I'm uncertain whether the mods are the cause:

Good that you've sort of got it solved. The only problem in your load order is that UFO is outdated compared to EFF and iAFT (not AFT, which is also outdated). When you next start a new game you should switch that out.

 

Otherwise I suggest you set up ENBoost as shown here:

Note that you don't have to have an ENB preset to do this.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'll try installing it and see if it helps. I've actually wanted to try ENBoost for a while but couldn't figure out how to download it from the site. The tutorial is helping a lot. I'll report back after I've tested the game for a while. I'm planning to start a new save game after installing the Campfire and Frostfall mods, so that'll be the perfect opportunity for a long test period.

I attempted to install ENBoost and it doesn't want to work. I've followed the instructions as best I could but the game won't even attempt to load with it installed. I get the Skyrim Launcher to load, but as soon as I attempt to start the game, it doesn't even try. It acts as though I didn't tell it to start.

 

I'm uncertain as to why this is. Is it my laptop? It's a 4 Core HP Notebook with Windows 10 and Radeon R2 graphics. I have 8 GBs of RAM. Any ideas? I want to try ENBoost out but it doesn't seem to want to cooperate :sad:

This is an update on my attempts to install the enbseries and ENboost. I can get neither the wrapper version or the injector version to work. I followed the tutorial as best I could, then also watched several installation videos for both versions, and it just won't work for me personally. With the injector version, the game will actually boot up to the title screen, but as soon as it tries to load the 'continue or new game' menu, it CTD.

 

It's unfortunate I can't get it to work, but I'll have to give up on it. I'll just have to test the other fix I discovered to see whether it works for a long haul. Thanks again, TheGreatFalro, for trying to help me!
